If I EMAIL a cover letter with errors, can I fax a correct one?

Do principals read the emails, do you think?

This same exact thing happened to me today with a resume. There was something funky with the font being different between certain lines, and some things not being aligned correctly. I blame it on my computer, which is ultra-sensitive. The resume looked fine when I saved/sent it, but when I looked at it in the "sent" folder of yahoo, it looked weird. I just left it alone. I didn't want to call more attention to it. Let me know what you do.

Yes Ps read email. Faxes can easily be overlooked or discarded. Just let it be or email a new one.

Save your resume as a PDF, then you don't have to worry about fonts changing or spacing getting off.

    I have windows 8/word 13 and it is a death-trap!

get a free trial of adobe (30 days) off thier site; upon up your word doc there and you find so many errors with formatting because it displays better.

when working on my documents in MS word I couldn't see some formatting issues, like lines not being the same weight and bullets aligned poorly. when i look at in adobe, then all those things show up.

Are you aligning bullets manually? If so, why?

I know! Well I found this two column resume template with tricky formatting and I needed to modify it a bit, but I am not as literate I should be with word.
I have a free lynda account through my school so I am trying to learn everything.

Using bullets in Word is a pretty basic skill. Have you never had to use Word before? Are you going to be prepared enough for a teaching position where you might have to make your own handouts or presentations for students or edit ones that you find online?

abat_jour I highly recommend saving your word files as pdfs when you are done with them.

Word is pretty much WYSIWYG now...I'm really making a snap judgment here, but I would suggest possibly taking a class on Word. Community colleges have these all the time.
