I called a school district that told me ACP teachers are their last resort-me. Well I took a chance to call about a Math position and was asked to come in to "talk". Fortunately, I came prepared and was told after a brief conversation she had 4 principals in the other room she wanted me to interview with. They are willing to give me a PIP (provisional intern permit). Well I interviewed and within an hour my references were called. In less than two hours I got a job offer. I still can't believe it. Thank you to everyone who posts their thoughts and opinions. It is a middle school math position (not sure exact grade-have to call the principal tomorrow and sign my contract). This is the best forum. I thank God I found it! Good luck to all those still searching. Don't be afraid to call those districts. Even though I had turned in my application two weeks ago and noted I was in the process of becoming credentialed in math, I wasn't even on their radar. Be agressive, it doesn't hurt to call. Don't let your name slip through the cracks like mine almost did.
