So I didn't do it the first day. I got so busy! But today I busted out the cape! It was a perfect set up too. I started with telling them I had a confession. There was something ELSE that I didn't tell them about me. They LOVED LOVED it. My super power is READING! I told them all about my own struggles with learning to read. Then I told them my KRYPTONITE was grammar! They got pretty excited thinking that we'd NEVER do grammar. But I told them NO... it is a weakness but I am always trying to over come it!

We talked about how they could be a SUPER STUDENT! It was great in discussing rules!

I just thought I would share!

Sounds like a lesson they will remember. Good for you for having the courage to do that. It sounds like both you and the students really enjoyed it as well. Congrats!

That is an awesome idea for an incentive! The cape can be displayed in the room and worn for recess by a student who shows the "most improved" for their Kryptonite! :)

Did students write about their Kryptonite? Great beginning of year goal setting!
