I love Gone with the Wind. It's one of my all time favorites. I love the romance side of it. I absolutely adore Clark Gable as Rhett Butler! I know its a long movie, but I can sit through it again and again. And every time I watch it, I'm reminded of my mom and how we would watch it together. I'm very glad she got me interested in this movie.

What's one of your all time favorite movies?

GWTW is one of my favorites too! My all time feel-good movie though is IT Can Happen To You... Nicolas Cage where he wins the lottery and gives part of it to the waitress... I love it. It's one of those movies that I can watch when I am in a horrible mood and it just reminds me that there is good in the world.

MissFrizz, you have got to rent this movie. It's great! "But I won't think about that today, I'll think about that tomorrow"

silverspoon, I've never seen that movie. Not a big Nicholas Cage fan.

    Oh yeah :)
It is an awesome movie if you have a few hours to enjoy it. So much better than 99% of today's movies.
I also love James Dean in East of Eden and Rebel Without A Cause. Very psychological movies that were ahead of their time (in my opinion, of course!)

The ones I watch over and over again are Big Trouble in Little China(I can quote it word for word), Jaws, Ghostbusters, The Princess Bride, Hellboy, and An American Werewolf in London.

Now that I think about it it's all stuff I can quote from memory. Most from the 1980's, too. I miss truly good movie dialogue.

Occaisionally been throwing in my 1974 uncut Wicker Man DVD. God, I hate to think what Nick Cage must have done to that.

I dearly need a copy of Casablanca.

Okay, fine. My favorite classic is "An Affair to Remember." I always cry at the part where he is about to walk out the door, then he realizes...
Our favorites are "The Princess Bride," "The Matchmaker," "Ever After," "Fools Rush In," "The Tenth Kingdom," "Clueless," "Legally Blonde," "Lagaan," "What A Girl Wants," "Mulan," and "The Emperor's New Groove" because it's so funny and cute! :)

The Princess Bride is a favorite in this house as well. I really enjoy Holes, Disney's Freaky Friday and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I forget the name of the movie but it was about a mailbox and it was with Kenau Reeves (sp). He and a sweetie write to each other and finally meet in the end. It was so good my hubbie and I both cried. I also really like Facing the Giants.

GWTW is an all time favorite of mine too. The first time I was able to watch the entire thing was when I was student teaching. I lived with my grandparents for several months. We had a snow day and it came on tv and Grandmama and I sat down and watched the whole thing. I tortured the family with it when it came on last weekend. Hey, if I can watch rodeos, James Bond, and hunting shows with him every week, he can sit through an American classic with me once a year:p

Well, I don't either. Especially since the movie was made several years after the original one. Is it written by the same person?

    M. Mitchell wrote GWTW - I think some romance writer wrote Scarlet with approval from the Mitchell family.

Lately whenever The Holiday with Cameron Diaz & Kate Winslet is on we watch it!!!
