My heart is broken over the loss of so many innocent people..... but what bothers me the most is the death of this sweet young girl.

I lost a little girl decades ago...... and it still hurts so much ...

    http://www.azcentral.com/news/artic...ords-arizona-shooting-tucson-girl-killed.html

"I just want people to know her," says John Green, the father of 9-year-old Christina Green, killed in Saturday's shooting just outside Tucson.

She was a spunky and spirited girl who loved baseball, ballet, swimming and gymnastics. She was a determined girl who never gave up. "If she wanted something, she would get it done, she wouldn't take no for an answer," he said. "I guess that was a little bit of me, that stubbornness and that persistence."

While the whole incident is horrible, the death of Christina really is gut wrenching. That poor baby.

Major, I'm very sorry for the loss of your daughter. I can't imagine that kind of pain.

I'm sorry, Major, I simply can't read it. It will keep me up all night, and do no one any good at all.

    But my deepest sympathies.

I was so saddened to hear about her as well!!!
So sorry to those who lost a child.
I remember when a student/family friend (mom works with the mom) was tragically died... It was so hard... She was about the same age...

This article has brought me to tears. I put myself in that father's place and know that must be the worse ordeal for a person to go through.

This is so gut wrenching ...
I look at the picture of that sweet little girl
and then at the mug shot of the killer
    I want to just scream
And then that D___ Church from Topeka saying they are going to protest ......
I am thinking of Driving down to Tucson for the memorial service (if I can swing the money for the gas)

BTW, the hate mongers are from Topeka...... Hopefully the decent people in Tucson will keep the WBC devils far from the funeral.

I shouldn't have said anyone deserved violence. No one does, even those vile people. This is what I mean though, someone is going to go too far.

As a Southern Baptist, I am sick that they call theirselves Baptist. My church teaches religious tolarance for others.

This "church" was suppose to picket a child's funeral in Oklahoma last month. It was scheduled after a picket they did of a military serviceman. During the services of the young man, someone slashed their tires. (While I don't agree with this, I understand the frustration that someone might have had to do it!) When the group went to get the tire fixed, no one in the town would serve them. The police followed them through town to make sure that the community was safe, and that they were safe. McAlester is a typical Oklahoma town. They are very loyal to their military men and women. Westboro made a mistake in coming here.

I think that surrounding this child's funeral with angels is wonderful, but it wouldn't surprise me if Westboro backed down. They don't like for anyone to use their tactics on them. They think they are the only ones entitled to freedom of speech.

This "church" does to Christianity what terrorists do to Islam. :(

Their usual excuse is that somehow, the state of Arizona/city of Tucson/Representative Gifford/dog down the street has "wronged" them in some way. So they need to be at the funeral to make sure all the mourners know that this was God's "punishment".

I read on CNN that the arizona legislature is pushing through a law that will ban protestors within 300 feet of funerals and funeral processions

Major and STG- I am so sorry for your loss. :hugs:
I only read the beginning of the article, because I got choked up-she shared the same birthday as my son-9/11. What a beautiful girl. My faith is strong-she is in the Lord's arms, and He has great plans for her.My prayers go out to her family.
The whole incident is a tragedy. What is happening to our society? It frightens me to think that this is what we have resorted to. We are not moving forward, we are moving backward. :dizzy:

I watched an interview with the parents of the little girl and Anderson Cooper. I kept crying through the whole thing. My own 9-year-old daughter was asleep in the bed at the time I watched her, and I kept looking at her thinking how lucky I was to have her right there, and how much of a nightmare this is for her parents. For them, this nightmare is a reality. Some people are so sick. No 9-year-old deserves this. And that "church" group is even sicker. How can they justify this? They are not real Christians. Come on. Christians are supposed to be followers of Jesus, not advocates of murder and violence. Just how to people get to be that loony??? It's disgusting, and it makes me sick to my stomach.

Some people will ask what caused this
    Well, sometimes it just happens,

There have been many evil people,
    Jeffrey Dahmer
    Richard Speck
Ricky Kasso (his father was my SS teacher)
    Richard Farley
    Charles Whitman
    John Allen Muhammad
    The Ku Klux Klan
    John Wayne Gacy

We can study their lives to try to find out why but some people are just EVIL!

I was supposed to be in Tuscon that day but we changed our plans. One of my collegues had a family member inside the store as it was happening. Terrfiying! This whole event sickens me! My kids today said while watching the news..Everyone is taking about Arizona now and its so sad that this is what they are talking about" . There was silence in my homeroom while they watched the channel one news on it.

The WBC decided not to protest in exchange for a deal: A Tucson DJ gave them 30 minutes of airtime
