The first two weeks we are going to be doing "All about me" and one of the stories we will read is " I like me" by Nancy Carlson. I am wanting some activities that are short ~ not time consuming that can be used for "fill in's". Any and all suggestions are welcome though!

    I like me!

    Other books to read:

Horray For You! A Celebration Of You-ness
    My Nose, Your Nose
    We Share One World
    Whoever You Are

Make all about me books, include pages:
My name is_____, this is a picture of me
This is a picture of my family, there are ____ people in my family
My birthday is on_____, I am __ years old
    I like the color ____
    I enjoy_____
    My favorite food is_____
    This is my hand (trace)
    This is my foot (trace)
(each page they draw a picture)

This activity goes with diversity too...
bring in 3-4 eggs different colors and sizes (brown eggs have lots of different shades from light to dark)
Talk about how the eggs are like us, all different colors and sizes.
Crack the eggs into a bowl and then look at the inside...even though we are different on the outside, we are all the same on the inside.

I'm going to an All About Me workshop on the 14th, I can post any ideas I get there, but it might be too late for you to use.

    Mrs. Shelia,
I play a game with my 4 and 5 yr olds. We pretend that we are looking into a mirror. Palms of hands facing you. This is what we say into the mirror which is to ourselves.. I like you..I like you.. I am beautiful on the outside and I am beautiful on the inside. I like my face and everything that I see .. No one can tell me anything different. As the day goes on I have seen them pretend to have a mirror and they tell their friend"look in the mirror and see yourself."
They appear to like the game and sometimes I found looking at themselves in the mirror in the dramacti play area.
