With my kindergarteners, I used to sing a day of the week song that goes to the tune of "Oh my Darlin' Clementine"

    Sunday Monday
    Tuesday Wednesday
    Thursday Friiiday Saturday
There are seven days in a week
    Seven days in a week

For the months of the year, I did something to the tune of "Ten Little Indians"

January, February, March and April (clap on each month)
May and June and July and August
    September, October, November, December
12 months in a year (clapping on each syllable in the last line)

Hope that helps! My kids loved them:)

For our welcome song, I sing Good Morning TO you sung to the melody of Happy birthday to you. Same concept, and on the second to last line I sing "good morning boys and girls........"
Days of the week: Sung to Oh My Darlin': There are seven days, there are seven days, there are seven days in the week. Sunday, MOnday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday, Saturday! And for the months of the year we really say a rhyme that goes like this: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, and August, are headin' our way, September, October, Novemver, and then, December makes a year and we start over again. (you need to kinda get the rhythm to that last one, and then it goes real smooth)
There are many more of these, and I'm sure others have some great ones, too. :)

Oh, I'd like the Spanish versions for days of the weeks because my kids get Spanish and I don't know it. I will have to look for that cd. I like the song It's a Beautiful Day. My son always sang that one when he was in either first or second grade.

We learned the months of the year to the macarena.

Chant the month and do the hand motions:

Jan - right hand out, palm up
Feb - left hand out, palm up
Mar - flip right hand over
April - flip left hand over
May - right hand to left elbow
June - left hand to right elbow
July - right hand behind head
Aug - left hand behind head
Sept - right hand to left hip
Oct - left hand to right hip
Nov - right hand on right hip
Dec - left hand on left hip
Twirl right hand in the air like a lasso and say "Whoo, months of the year"

The kids love and will want to go faster and faster.

Thanks for the macareno song. My daughters did this in Pre-K but I could not remember the hand movements. I also do the days of the week to the Addams family.

I love Dr. Jean! I don't remember which CD is it on but it's tracks 11, 12, & 13. Maybe is 12, 13, 14) Days of the week, months of the year & the weather. The kids loved it when I got the wrong track the one before the days of the week is the Tooty Ta!

We would do the Pledge of Allegiance, sing our songs & then graph the weather. Gotta sing the songs or our day just wasn't right.

Mr. Al is also a good one. I am planning on buying his cd Mr. Al A La Carte. It has a fun morning song "Let's Get Started" (http://cdbaby.com/cd/mral2).

There are seven, seven days, seven days in a week
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

    As for good-bye:
    We had a happy day
    We had a happy day
    Hi-ho, don't you know
    We had a happy day
    Good-bye, Good-bye
    It's time to say Good-bye
    Our work is done
    We had some fun
