I was working at the school today. I was organizing my desk and stood up really fast (I forgot I'd opened the cupboards above my desk) and smacked my head REALLY hard on the door handle. I swear I saw stars and got woozy :( I still have a wicked headache 7 hours later and I'm sick to my stomach. How sad is that? :) My first "concussion" is from a cupboard door!

I did something very similar but I banged my head on my desk really hard :( and I saw stars to!! So I started school on Monday with a great big bruise on my forehead.

    Hope you're feeling better soon

Go to the ER. That is symptomatic of a concussion.

Symptoms of a concussion are basically that.

You are probably going to feel tired soon

AT least call the ER and ask if you should go in.

If she calls the ER with those symptoms they will tell her to go in...my husband is a nurse, I just asked him and he said definitely go to the hospital, but have someone else drive you. He said what mey seem like a minor concussion may actually be a much more serious injury. Get well soon!

I'm fine :) The school knows it happened, but they also know it happened because I'm stupid  I just had a really bad headache last night and when I got up this morning, I felt fine. Thanks for all the concern!

I'm glad you are fine but be careful with head injuries like that. They can go from ok to pretty serious real fast. Not meant to scare you, just to inform you. If you begin to feel off again today or tomorrow, it could be later effects of this injury.

I agree with the others. Don't forget what happened to Natasha Richardson - she bumped her head, developed a headache awhile later, and was dead the next day. You can never be too careful when it comes to head injuries.

    Correct.

You could feel crappy the first day, feel good the next day, begin vomiting the second day after the event, and then start slurring your speech and be unable to walk at all without assistance on the third day.
