I am just so excited that I had the chance to see my classroom today. On the day I was interviewed I took a tour, but that's not the same as going in to my specific room, walking around and taking pictures. I am so happy.

To make things even better the teacher whose room it used to be was there (she is teaching summer school, ends Friday) and she gave me some tips and advice. Plus because she is leaving to become a resource teacher at another school she left me sooooo much stuff. YAY! :D

Okay I fixed the issue. Apparently I had changed the album settings to private, making theme require a password. I have made changed the album settings to public again, so you should be able to see the pics. :)

Yay! It worked! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Very nice! So all that stuff is just stuff that was left? How awesome! Looks like some pretty good stuff!
Is that a smartboard or just a projector?

That actually has its advantages! I am a minimalist and came into a room where someone had been in for 20 years... think of all the stuff in there. Years later I am still finding junk that I don't use or need!

It's a blank template, so you can do whatever you want to it! Have fun!

Thank you. Yeah I can't actually start decorating until next week (whenever I find time) because summer school doesn't end until this Friday (August 6). I am already planning what's going where though, have my class theme ready.

Looks like a great room! Lots to do by way of clean-up before going in as there is a load of stuff left there.

A couple questions about your lay-out plan. I don't understand where student 6 and 21 are actually going to sit. The other thing is just a "me-thing" as I would have a hard time with students going behind my desk to get to the sink and water fountain just because I would have my stuff there and I wouldn't want water to spill on it even accidentally. It may not be an issue to you.

The other teacher left it pretty organized so not to much to clean. Plus i don't mind cleaning it out since I have the option of keeping it and using it. :)

The sink and desk are not as close as they are in the diagram. The sink is a little more to the left. The diagram isn't to scale. About student 6 and 21. Student 6 is facing the same way as students 9 and 5, while student 21 is facing the same direction as students 18 and 22. So yeah they are both facing the side of another student. I will see how it works. I have never tried a "E" seating arrangement before (or any other since this is my first year, lol) so I may be setting it up wrong. IDK.

Any advice would be helpful and will be taken into consideration.

OPPA637 > IDK what other teachers do but mine is leaving to become a resource teacher in another school and said that she is leaving most of her stuff. She told me I can use what I want and dump it if I don't want it.

Oh cool! I did not see the diagram before! Wow! I like that! How did you do that?

I have not see that set up before! Cool! What way are the others (#2, 3, 7, 8, 12, 13 etc) facing- towards the front- towards the smartboard?

Looks so great and functional! Love it!

I made the diagram in Microsoft Word with the shapes. It is very time consuming because you have to keep adjusting the shapes. You don't have to color the items but I did because it looks more realistic (green board, blue for windows, etc.). However I had fun making it. I like doing it in word better then those websites because i can add more, re-size easier, label things, etc. Plus if i want to i can change things around and just "save as" so i have all my options on file.

The desk that form the short lines on the E (1,2,3,7,8,12,13,etc) they are all facing the front of the room (the smart board). The other students, who form the long side line of the E (4,5,6,9,10,etc.) are all facing the center of the E. I have never seen the E arrangement but I have heard about it and I would like to give it a try.

My theme is "The GREENEhouse" so the welcome board or my door (allyear round) will say " Welcome to the 4th grade GREENEhouse" (black letters except the word greene, it's my last name).

It is a nature theme, focusing mainly on plants (trees, flowers, grass, vines, the green stuff, lol)
