Congrats! Is it a LTS job for the remainder of the year, or is it a regular position that you'd return to in the fall?

    Thanks Everyone

@ Lindager there is hope...if it was not for a to z I do not think I would have got a job...I redid my cover letter, made a brochure, practice interview questions, read the articles on classroom management and wore a suit to be more professional..and I did all this because of the stuff I read on here...also I stress that you make a brochure both schools I interviewed at were very impressed with it... Good Luck

Kristen-congrats! I just accepted a 7th grade life science job as well but mine is only a LTS but it is for the rest of the year and will give me some experience and hopefully open a door to getting a position for next yr. I just wanted to ask you if you have any good advice as I get so nervous during a interview but I know I shouldn't as I am very qualified yet my nerves can get the best of me. Also can you tell me a little about this brochure idea? what did you make it of?

Sorry it took me so long to write back glitzeyes.... I was always very nervous at interviews but it really does help to practice questions because then you dnt have to think as much on the spot almost all interviews ask about classroom management and I could never get a good answer out although I have good management skills but once I wrote my answer down and practiced it I was ready when they asked it....also sent me your email address in a pm and ill send u my brochure

Congrats on the new job. I would like to hear more or perhaps preview your brochure as well because I've heard about them but have never seen an example of one.

so i did my brochure the way someone on here suggested but I can seem to find the post so ill just tell you how i did mine...

    1. i used microsoft word temp
    2. first panel is just my name at the top...a picture i got off clip art...below that is a quote i tried to live my life by
3.2nd panel is a list of my education ( used from my resume)
4.3rd panel is a list of my teaching experience (used from my resume)
    5. 4th panel is a list of my future goals
    6. 5th panel was a condense form of my teaching philosophy
    7. the last panel was my contact info and a clip art pic

instead of the future goal panel you could do ur teaching strats but since im a newbie I stuck to what I be more comfortable talking about if I got asked about...hope this helps
