I found the pocket charts! Lots and lots of them at Target in Athens, Ga (just in case anyone near me has not been able to find them yet!)!!!! I bout 11 of them. I'm going to use 8 of them for word walls that will change throughout the year. The last 3 are going to be for my classroom jobs. I'll have the pockets hold the job titles and then use clothes pins to show what students hold that particular job for the week. What are some other ways that ya'll use these?

Both the Targets in Snellville and Lawrenceville have them. If you're going to drive all the way to Athens, you may as well stop by there on your way.

Word to wise, these pocket charts need aired out before putting them in the classroom. They have a very STRONG smell! :)

Did you find them in Ohio already? I was at a North Columbus store last week and they weren't there...

I live in the Southwestern part of the state, and the Target near my church had them, but not the one by my house! Neither have the $1.00 magazine holder/book bins. :( Of course, I keep trying to tell myself that I DON'T NEED those. My ziploc baggies work fine.

The one in McDonough hasn't had any--or at least not any while I was there. My mom is going by the one in Macon for me to check there. I am needing a trip to Fayetteville (they have a great Joann's and Hobby Lobby), so I might try there. :)

I had checked several times before I found them. I went in the middle of the day today and they were there. I think they get cleaned out fairly often.

I had my whole family on the lookout but for "pocket charts" but they are called "scheduling charts" - found out that non-teachers have no idea what a pocket chart is - my Mom bought me 10 zippered pencil cases though - they do have a pocket!

Found them! There were two left, called scheduling charts (as noted above). The smell filled my minivan (I left them in the car in the hot sun for an hour and nearly gassed myself!)!

They are outside airing out now. What the heck?

My friend is airing her's out as we speak and we had bad storms last night. Well apparently some things blew away from the porch, but not the pocket chart....much to her family's dismay!

I finally found some... my sister was amazed that I am already looking at school "stuff" when we don't actually start until late August.

I found one pocket chart and snapped it up. I found 11 magazine holder bins. I was super excited about that. My husband probably thought I was crazy. I'll probably put centers in them.

:lol::lol: After I read your post, I went to my garage and opened up my 2 pocket charts. Talk about foul!! My whole garage stinks, and the house started smelling from the packaging that I had thrown in the trash can! SICKO!! Does the smell eventually go away?

You can actually create smaller pockets by using your sewing machine. I made a behavior chart with 20 slots. I like pocket charts with many slots as they also make great sorting activities.
