I've been out of school (my GT certification classes) for nearly a week now and I've not even looked at the last 2 assignments that are due...tomorrow. Guess I should get started, huh?
Well, depending on what time your class is...you could just start it tomorrow I'm not the Queen of Procrastination, mind you. I'm the Goddess!
I have my math book on the kitchen table, opened up to my homework page. Homework is only 3/4 completed. I could have gotten it all done yesterday but after working diligently for 15 minutes I decided that I should make some tea. Then, while I drank my tea I watched a movie on Netflix. Then, after all that tea I had to go use the bathroom so of course I decided that I needed to clean the bathroom. After that, I had to make dinner, eat dinner, clean up after dinner. Then I watched another movie on Netflix, played on the computer, went to bed. My book is exactly where I left it just waiting for me to STOP PROCRASTINATING!!!
LOL I'm sitting in my classroom surrounded by mess, chaos, and confusion. I'm limited on how long I have to work in here because they'll be working on the floors in the hallway. Yet I seem to be getting much more done on here than in the room! There's always tomorrow to work on it.
And why are we the same ones who hate it when our students are the same way? I actually talk to my students quite a bit about my tendancy to procrastinate and the stress it can cause. I also point out that although I am often completing things like report cards at the last minute, I never miss a dead-line.
I have so much due Friday and I'm struggling getting motivation to start tonight (a few days away) because well...I'm tired and it isn't due tomorrow but I know I must. Sigh. Give me kick!
I have a NCLB position paper to write, two research papers to write, a group project, 10 ASL videos to make and some materials for center activities. (Grad school).
That's how I got through college. Wasn't it Mark Twain who said "don't put it off until tomorrow, when you can put it off until the day after tomorrow". I work much better under pressure! And yes, I am that teacher who when the kids ask if they can finish it tomorrow-my answer if always no! Oh the hypocrisy!
Girlie, I feel your pain! That sounds similar to my boat about 6 weeks ago when I was finishing up one of my grad classes.
Oh. My. Gosh. Whip out the vuvuzelas, I'm done with BOTH papers! I thought I had until tomorrow, but then I found out I had until 9 tonight to submit them. That got a fire under my butt quite nicely This means I am officially done with my G&T courses! Celebrate with me!!
