I signed a letter of intent today. I'm going to be a kindergarten teacher in a rural district. It took 10 interviews to get to this point -two cities, two states, and two counties! I'm glad the search is over. Now I can actually focus on better things!

Will you be moving? How far did you end up away from home? Glad you have a job. You will enjoy K.

No, I'm on a state line and in an area where I could technically work in 7 cities and about 8 counties within an hour's drive. My drive will be about 40 minutes each way. Driving to a job is not uncommon around here. When I was in college, I was driving about 35 miles one way which equated to at the very least a 50 minute drive, but most days an hour and 10-15 minutes. I am also on the edge of a large metropolitan area.

My mom says that I'll love kindergarten too. I've subbed kindy before and enjoyed it.
