Woo hoo! I did my demo lesson this morning and got the call this evening! I will be teaching third grade next year! I am beyond excited! I feel so extremely fortunate that I was not only able to get a job in this market but to get one at an absolutely wonderful school! I love the people there! I just know the team I will be working with will be wonderful support for my first year of teaching! I'm still having trouble believing it! My terrific principal said we should be taking care of the paperwork some time next week. Yay!!!

Wow - congratulations! It must feel great to know exactly what you will be doing in the fall. Now you can focus all of your energy into gathering ideas and plans for your classroom - after a nice break from the stress of job hunting, of course!

Congrats!!! I am pretty much in the position you were in. Got my credential last year and have been applying non-stop. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think made you stand out? I have seriously applied to somewhere around 75 positions (last year and this year), mostly over Edjoin and I never hear a word from anyone. It's so discouraging, but nice to know that it is possible for a new teacher to find a job in California. You will love third grade!
