...and we have decided to buy a house near the beach! So far this summer I have been glued to real estate websites and have looked at many homes. I really enjoy this process...not so much hubby.
That's so exciting! Congrats to your hubby! I would be glued to real estate websites too! Someday, when I retire, I want a lake house. I would say beach house but I like the area we live in and the beach is 10 hours from me. LOL I also would love to have an RV where I could travel and go watch the TX Rangers play some of their baseball games in historic ballparks around the country.
How exciting! I would love to retire near a beach. DH and I are both teachers, so the beach is out of our reach, most likely. However, we do live next to a river, so we have decided we would like a boat.
Our retirement home is quite near the California Delta. I’m looking forward to trying out kayaking, once I get over a nasty pulled back muscle.

Hmm...I think subbing would be frustrating. What I’m thinking about is getting involved as a university supervisor for student teachers. I’ve always enjoyed working with other teachers, and in my years at my school I mentored 5 different teachers in my curriculum, because there was a lot of turnover at my grade level.
My new home has a lake on property that we can use. I think I would like to try out kayaking skills on the lake before taking it to the ocean! So, get better soon and good luck with the kayaking!
