What is after Algebra 2 at your school? We have three levels of Algebra 2 (Algebra 2, Academic Algebra 2, and Algebra 2 Honors). The Algebra 2 go to Advanced Algebra. The Academic Algebra 2 go to Precalc or Advanced Algebra(if they are lazy). The Algebra 2 honors go to Geometry Honors. I've been given the opportunity to change the "Advanced Algebra" class. I am the only one teaching two sections of this course. Approx. 20 students each class. The Curriculum supervisor would like to see it as an extension of Algebra II which would continue to build Algebra II skills that would lead into necessary skills for math classes in college. Anyone know of a good text that would do that? The supervisor gave me Key Curriculum Press Advanced Algebra, but it looks like a Science book with a little Algebra 2 thrown in.

We have a bunch of different tracks in our school: Track 1 the Lowest: 9th: Foundations of Algebra and Geometry 10th: Focus on Algebra I 11th: Focus on Geometry 12th: Focus on Algebra II OR Consumer Math Track 2: 9th: Focus on Algebra I 10th: Focus on Geometry 11th: Focus on Algebra II 12th: Advanced Algebra Track 3: 9th: Algebra I CP/H 10th: Geometry CP/H 11th: Algebra II CP/H (Stats elective) 12th: Precalc I/II H, Intro to Calc (H) (Stats elective) **Only Precalc I is necessary Track 4: 9th grade: Geometry H 10th: Algebra II H 1th: Precal H 12th: AP Calc or Calc Honors

I teach Elementary, but when I was in HS (not that long ago) we had to take Algebra1 and 2 and geometry. After that if you wanted to take Calc or Stats you could as an elective

For Algebra II we use the Dressler Text by Amsco. It has a ton of verbal problems, and the explanantions are good. http://www.amazon.com/Algebra-2-Tri...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275131763&sr=1-1
