When spreading butter on bread, what are the movements you make? when the teacher is presenting it to the child? Do you have any idea?
When you want to develop kids in left-right concept for reading and writing, you always start any activity from left.

I want to know how to use the butter knife when spreading butter? Anyone can help?

I always do it from right to left since I'm right handed. You do want to do things left to right, but some things just have to be done the way you'd do them in normal every day life.

You'll also want to make sure the butter is softened some way so it's easier for the children to spread.

"Scrape and squoosh" are our favorite words. And we started out with spoons before knives. At first I would put the appropriate amount on the bread until they learned what the right amount looked like. Works great for mayo, peanut butter, jelly, butter, etc.
