I'm working on an information pack for my parents for open house. I teach Kindergarten. I would like to put a quote in or say something about how success depends on both the parents and teacher. Alright, in a nice way I want to say hey I'm going to work my hardest and I need you the parent to work really hard too. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

I usually end my letter with:
"Please feel free to contact me with your questions or concerns. I am looking forward to working with you to help your child have a happy and successful year."

Could also say something about working as a team ....

"It's important for parents and teachers to work together in the best interest of the child. This teamwork assures the student's success and happiness in the classroom. -Then add what jlj said-"
I'm worried that doesn't come off as very nice though...

This is what I wrote this year-

I value when parents visit our classroom. There will be many opportunities for you to become involved this year, whether it is the amazing Thanksgiving feast, a field trip, assisting during different subjects (such as with science experiments or reading partnerships), or being able to watch your child share stories (s)he has written.

I am prepared for a sensational school year. Thank you for taking the first step to learning about your child’s fourth grade experience.

There are a few things I ask of you this school year-
    • Encourage your child to complete his or her homework. Thirty minutes of silent reading per night is assigned Monday-Thursday. Additionally, there will be a form of math practice every night that will take between 10-15 minutes to complete.
    • Fill out the information sheet I am providing in this packet. It is important every year for me to ask how to best teach your child.
    • Make sure your child always has paper, pencils and pens.
    • Your child will also have a jPod binder that organizes homework, all weekly reading logs, and your child’s agenda together.
    • Please be involved in your child’s education. Being involved has many benefits.

Maybe change 'working with you' to 'working together'.

    WHOSE CHILD IS THIS?
    Author Unknown

"Whose child is this?" I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play
"Mine", said the parent with a tender smile
"Mine to keep a little while
To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear
To prepare him that he may always be good
And each day do the things he should"

"Whose child is this?" I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile
"Mine, to keep just for a little while
To teach him how to be gentle and kind
To train and direct his dear little mind
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school"

"Whose child is this?" I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
"Ours" said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child
"Ours to love and train together
    Ours this blessed task forever."
