I really want to incorporate at least once, maybe two times where the kids wash hands! BUT HOW DO I DO IT WITHOUT TAKING FOREVER! UGH!

It does take forever; you kind of just have to resign yourself to that if you want clean hands.

I send my kids to the bathroom before lunch to wash hands. I send about 8 kids at a time (4 each to boys' and girls' rooms). When they start trickling back I send more. If you have a sink in the classroom and hallway bathrooms, you can split them up and it goes faster. It usually takes me about 10 minutes to get ready for lunch this way.

I also encourage handwashing throughout the day, reminding them to wash well, etc. Clorox sends out an informational package with DVD and stickers that teaches handwashing; I teach it as a fun lesson the first week of school.

We had scheduled bathroom breaks. My rule was you always had to wash your hands, even if you didn't do anything else!
