How often do you do the laundry? The last couple of weeks, I have done the laundry once per week, and I was AMAZED at how much better I felt having fewer loads to do, instead of letting it pile up like crazy from procrastination! :thumb:
Every other week. It's just me and I have lots of clothes. I probably should have done some tonight, but totally forgot! Oh well!
Every other week, when I get paid. It sucks having to walk nearly a quarter mile INSIDE MY BUILDING just to get to the machines. Thank heaven above the new laundry room on my end of the building is almost done. I lug two to five loads all that way......the wheelie cart broke...so we are doing it the hard way. YUCK!
At least a load a day, or I'm behind. It was a blessed, blessed day when my oldest became old enough to teach her how to wash and dry.
I do a load of laundry almost every day. There are 5 of us at home right now. My youngest son takes like 3 showers a day. Once in the morning, once before he goes to work, and then when he comes home from work. (Carl's Jr he smells like fast food I don't blame him) Plus there are 3 girls and we each use two towels when we shower. So towels I do EVERYDAY! Clothes only on the weekends.
I wash my workout gear as soon as I take it off, so about 5 times a week. Some of these are small loads though. I use a clean towel everyday so I wash these often also.
Now, generally a 2-3 loads once a week. When my kids were at home, often 1-2 loads a day because of all their sporting clothes. I can't handle the stress of piles of laundry - so much easier to keep on top of it. But, my rule is full loads only so I wait until I have a full load.
I waver back and forth between having just enough clothes to last the week and then washing every weekend, or having more changes of clothes to last longer and then only washing once every two weeks or so. So far, I find it less stressful to deal with less clothes even if I have to wash more frequently. I'm also only washing for myself and not a family.
I only do 2-3 loads a week so I can get them done Friday night and/or Saturday. It's putting everything away that kills me
I do a load almost every day. Dirty laundry to the hamper, usually not a problem. Wash, Dry, no problem at all. Getting it folded and put away, my nemisis!
My laundry may or may not be sitting in a basket in the room BF never enters and the one where the door stays closed
Once a week. We have machines inside our apartment for the first time ever (as opposed to a community laundry room), and it's glorious. Totally life changing. lol.
Just some hints that worked for me when I had a lot more laundry: -I put a chair by the dryer and folded things as I took them out of the dryer so I didn't pile clean clothes that then got all wrinkled. -I had color coded baskets for all the kids so I put them in the correct basket as I folded them and then put the baskets in the correct rooms. They had to put them away before they went to bed. -They were responsible to do their own laundry - full loads only - when they turned 10. If they can do complicated video games, they can run a washer and dryer.
Well, I am married with 3 sons. I do laundry all weekend, pretty much. I start the washing machine Friday night, do 4 loads on Saturday, and 2-3 loads on Sunday. Then I put it all away. Yippy Skippy. I've gotten smart though, all the dirty clothes go into one centralized location (humungous laundry hamper) and then when they are done drying, they are folded and placed into separate clothes baskets according to whom the clothing belongs. I have my own basket (very large to accommodate my love for clothing), my husband has his own, and then Adam, Jacob, and Aaron each have their own. Basically, after 6-7 loads, each basket is filled to the brim, and then I put them all away. It takes 30 minutes to put everybody's clothes away. I CAN'T WAIT for the day they can put it away themselves. My oldest is 7, and if I were to let him put it away it would all be shoved into one drawer, with no rhyme or reason to it.
4-5 loads every Saturday (darks, lights, dark delicate, light delicates, sheets/towels). Kids are 12 and 14 and have been doing their own laundry since about age 9. Daughter does hers every 4-5 days, son does his the day he realizes he has no clean pants ;-).
We usually do 4 loads a week, for my husband, myself, my baby's clothes, and sheets/towels. My husband does his own so it's not too much.
