In my school, I've noticed that not many teachers wear makeup. I used to wear makeup a lot in college, but ever since I started teaching a few years ago, I haven't worn much at all. I usually wear eyeliner and maybe some lip gloss. I'm thinking of starting to wear a little bit more, but not sure if it's worth the effort. How much (if any) do you usually wear?
I have a daily routine of concealer under my baggy eyes, sometimes eyeliner, always eye shadow, and mascara. It's enough to make me feel pretty and look like I put some effort into myself in the morning, but it's not over the top. When I go out I wear more darker colorful eye shadow, plus funky colored lipstick.
Depends how I feel when I wake up. Sometimes I'll wear eyeliner and/or maybe a sheer eye shadow (I love the Chanel Illusion D'Ombres). I can't stand heavy eye makeup and almost never wear mascara, but I save the samples I get at the Chanel counter, so I never have to buy any. I love lipsticks and lip gloss, so that's what I usually wear. I love darker, dramatic colors in the fall. Once in a while I'll wear a tiny bit of blush, and I usually wear a tiny, sheer bit of foundation. I'm lucky to have good skin, so I don't use much. The Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is great for this, since it gives a nice finish while still just looking like my skin. Nail polish is my real addiction. I have almost 200 Chanel polishes! I've been collecting them since I was 18. My students always keep track of my nail polish and notice any new color I wear.
Moisturizer, foundation and powder, eyeshadow and mascara, a bit of blush, lipstick...but applied in a way that doesn't scream MAKEUP.
Foundation with sunscreen, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, lip gloss. Pretty much everything but eye liner. Most everything I wear is pretty sheer though and not all that dramatic.
sounds like me and shoes:lol: How often do you do your nails? Do the older polishes get thick and goopy?
I do my nails a few times a week; It's relaxing. Some older ones get a little goopy, but nail polish restorer will fix that. For the most part, I only have that issue with metallics. I've always been careful to keep bottles sealed and in a cool, dark area.
Wow! I love painting my nails but hate the upkeep. Right now I have about 2 week old teal. I'm too lazy to take it off or to re-do them. I barely notice, it drives my boyfriend crazy!!
The teachers at my school mostly do "full face" every day, so I tend to as well. To me, that means: sunscreen, foundation, powder, blush, concealer, eye liner, eye shadow, blush, bronzer, lipstick, mascara. It sounds like a lot, but it looks really natural. I naturally have a very uneven skin tone, so I look pretty scary if I don't do all of that. Kids have seen me in the grocery store without makeup and asked if I feeling poorly, so I should probably keep doing it. I just feel more pulled together with my "face on," as my Nana used to say. I'm wondering if it's a regional thing. Many southern women won't go to the mailbox without fixing their face!
If I'm leaving the house, it's Bare Minerals (it does wonders for roseacea) and mascara. When I think of adding to it or I know I'm going to turn on my school webcam, I add a little eyeliner and lipstick.
I change because I get bored with the colors. If you do them properly, they should last a good week. Wipe your nails with a bit of plain vinegar to prep them and make sure any residue is gone. Wrap your tips by tapping the edge of the brush along the edge. Do this for base coat, first coat of color, and then top coat.
I just use a bit of powder, eyeshadow and mascara. I put it on as soon as I get into school since I keep leaving my makeup bag in my schoolbag!
Thanks for the tips:thumb: Unfortunately, I'm just too ADD to do that. jeje I can barely sit long enough to let my nails dry from just one coat. Most of the time they end up mushed or something since I'll start doing laundry or whatever. That's why I started buying the ultra super quick dry. My left hand will be dry before I even start with my right hand!
I use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, blush, eye shadow, liner (usually with shadow), mascara and gloss. In the winter, when I'm really pale, I add some powder as well.
Moisturizer, foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow and lipstick/lipgloss. During the summer, though, I wear little to no makeup. There's no point if I'm going to end up in the pool.
Moisturizer, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyeshadow (usually 2-3 shades blended), liner, mascara and lip gloss. It helps me feel more professional and "put together" with a full face of makeup. I do my own gel nails at home, so they last about two weeks without chips. My nails are rarely "naked".
I do sunscreen, face primer, eyelid primer, blush/bronzer, eyeshadow, powder, and lip gloss. After walking to the cafeteria, I have to blot with rice paper - heat index has been over 100 every day. When it cools off a bit, I'll go back to wearing foundation. Right now, it just kind of melts off and then I just look scary!
Foundation, powder, eye liner, eye shadow, mascara. I love my eyes if you couldn't tell  Everything is in neutral colors though so most of the time there's only a subtle difference between make-up and no make-up.
I love ridiculous lashes. The bigger, blacker, and longer the better! And then make them a little longer! That said, I don't wear them like that. If nothing else, though, I always wear mascara and blush if I am out and about. I'm pretty obsessed with blush, actually. But typically I wear Bare Minerals powder (though my skin is improving and I've skipped it twice since school started...just felt good to not use it), blush, mascara, gloss (never lipstick, ever!), and sometimes a little liner on just the top outside corners. I have a couple shadows, but that's not a daily thing. I never color my nails.
I do moisturizer, foundation, eye shadow & blush. If I have time I do eye liner & mascara. Lipstick or gloss. . . when I remember which is rarely. Nails, I go in spurts.
It definitely does feel good not to use foundation sometimes! A while ago, I used to feel insecure about leaving the house without foundation. I finally listened to a boyfriend who said I looked nicer without it and gradually cut down. But ever since I stopped, I just feel more confident and better about myself.
Usually moisturizer, powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara & lip gloss. Occasionally I'll wear foundation but I always feel like its too heavy for my skin which stinks because my skin is awful. My nails are always painted a pale, barely there, pink. My school is pretty mixed when it comes to makeup. Some wear a lot, some wear a little and some wear none; it all depends.
My school is pretty mixed but I am with the others that said they where the "full face" every day because I don't feel together or professional looking otherwise. If I'm literally just going to the gym or walmart or something I'll leave the house with no make up but any other activity at all and I pretty much always have it. I used to not wear foundation but my skin tone is very uneven as it is and once I realized what a big difference it makes I started wearing it regularly. I don't typically do liner unless it's a more special occasion, and I never wear blush because my skin tone is red as it is- I try to detract from that, not add to it!
I wear Bare Minerals Matte foundation, blush, eyelid primer, two eyeshadows, eye liner, mascara, powder and lip gloss. I like having a put together face for work but I have no problems with running errands bare faced. Even with using Mac eyelid primer, and setting everything with powder, my eyeshadow runs and creases horribly. Blotting cloths work for my t-zone but bot so much with the eyelids. Anyone have any products or tips?
There was a time I never left the house without makeup. I rarely wear any now. If I do it will be a little blush and lipstick.
I have been using Urban Decay's primer potion for years. My eyelids get pretty oily without it. The primer makes my eyeshadow more vivid and lasts all day
I wear moisturizer, eye shadow with light eye liner (top lid only, to make my lashes look a little fuller), and a light coat of mascara. Sometimes I wear a tinted lip gloss, but that's it. Pretty minimal look. My skin is not the best, but I hate the feeling of foundation and concealer and powder and all that. So, I do without it. Real lipstick bugs me, too. I have tried several, and just don't like the feel of them.
I wear tinted moisturizer, light powder, blush, brown eye liner, neutral eyeshadow, and mascara. It usually takes me only about 5 minutes.
