We used to eat out 7 days a week. Our favorite was Chicken Express (we still love the sweet tea!). Since I've been home, off work, we've cut that back drastically to nothing! IF we do eat out, its Subway or Quiznos. Fav fast food: Chicken Express

Yeah, there's a lot to choose from alright! The only fast food places I don't eat at hardly or never are Wendy's, Togo's, Rubio's, & El Pollo Loco.
For wings & chicken, we have Wing Stop, Wing Nuts, this other place (forgot the name), Juan Pollo, KFC, Popeye's, Church's, Louisiana Fried Chicken. We don't have many buffet restaurants. Just Souplantation, Hometown Bufft, & a couple of Chinese food buffets.
I'd like to know how those who say they never eat fast food manage it! For my family, we eat fast food because of the time factor. Trying to get everyone where they need to be on time & fed before hand. Most nights we eat dinner together, as a family.
:lol: I could see where that would put you off... You know what though. I'll bet 9 out of 10 restaurants would totally freak us out if we saw what happens in the kitchen. So I'm not going to be paranoid about it. BRING ON THE BIG MAC.
OMG, I forgot about Wing Stop. I lived about 4 minutes from one when I lived in Georgia. They knew me by name! I also loved the buffalo chicken salad from Zaxbys -- YUM! There was also a guy who rented out a spot at a gas station and sold the best bbq ribs and chicken. He was only opened Friday evening, Saturday and Sundays. It was about 10 minutes from my school and I visited it at least 2 times a month. I literally drove around for hours for a couple of months looking for him when he disappeared hmy:.
This thread reminds me...I haven't had my take out fix this week yet! I might just get take out from a restaurant though.
My favorite fast food is a local 'hamburger joint'. They serve huge burgers with HOT green chilies! My hubby and I have to divide one burger for the two of us. About once every three months we get a craving for a burger. I've tried to make these at home, but it just isn't the same!
If I do eat fast food, it's usually Wendy's and I get a grilled chicken sandwich with chili or a side salad. I :LOVE Chipotle though!
That sounds good! And isn't that the way it usually is, too? You find one particular sandwich you love - - and then the fast food place takes it away or they close down and it's *gulp* GONE. For some reason, all the Wendy's closed down in our city except for on the very far side of town from us. My husband and I are really sad about it. We love Wendy's! And to the gal that mentioned chik-fil-A - - they left town when I was a teenager! I had to commute an hour to get to my college when I was getting my teaching degree, and to my delight, they had a Chik-fil-A in one of the dorms. I ate there everyday. :lol:
My bf used to work in pest control & there are a few nasty resturants out there (rats & roaches). The scary thing is, I know because he was able to tell me. The average person usually doesn't know which ones are clean & which ones aren't. A restaurant can look pretty good, but not nescessarily so. PLUS, another thing to think about: (No one get offended please! ) No one knows who has AIDS, hepatitis, etc. working in these establishments & especially cooking in these kitchens.
I've been known to complain to the manager about dirty bathrooms & ask for my money back! I figure if the bathroom is dirty, what does it look like where I can't see it. We also don't go back to the particular establishment.
You never really know what you're getting when you go out to eat. I read somewhere online that mentioned how restaurants do all sorts of things and you don't even know it. One that was mentioned was that a restaurant used to take pickles off customers' plates if they didn't eat them then rinse them off and put them back in the pickle jar! EWWWWWW That is why I'd rather eat at home!!
Bandnerdtx, I know what you mean about your former students working at the fast food establishments! I don't go to McDonalds any more because the last time I went, I knew every worker! I had taught all of them, and I knew how they worked (or should I say, didn't work!)
