As of right now, here are my numbers:

    105 Latin I
    40 Latin II H
    18 Latin III H
    3 Latin IV H
    ~30 AVID

    Grand total: 196

What are your numbers? Do you expect to have more or fewer students than you had last year?

    CP English = 28 (across 2 classes)
    English IV = 20
    English III = 53 (across 3 classes)

Our current junior and senior classes are TINY ... the next 2 classes are HUGE, next year will be way different.

I've been told I should have around 120 kids for starters, but enrollment at the school is expected to rise over the months.

ku, I'm so jealous! My student load is almost twice yours!

Last year, I had fewer than 150...maybe around 145 or so. I'm a little nervous about having so many students.

That is one nice thing about teaching a foreign language--counselors usually don't put kids into my class after the first couple of weeks of school. There's not even much in-district transfer activity, because so few schools in the district have Latin.

If anything, I expect my numbers to go down.

Cassie, nearly 200 students would frighten me! Our current senior class only has 56 students. We only have about 230 students 9-12 ... almost as many as will come in your classroom! Best of luck to you! Your centers idea sounds neat and will be good for large classes.

About 100 . . . it might sound low, but that is due to the fact that two of my science classes have a lab, which alternate with one another.

Not sure on exact numbers off the cuff, but I have 28 each in two of my Physical Science sections, 24 in the block PS I teach and 15 in ELL Science, so that is..95, pretty good and about as low as I've had in years. The block helps. I will have an additional 28 second semester, so that will bring the total up to 123.

Four sections of 12CP English @ 38 each and one of 12S English, which should be capped at 24 = about 166. Subject to change, of course. We start on the 27th.

I teach at an alternative school, and they cap our classes at 13 students. Last year, my biggest class only had 11. Plus I'll only have 4 classes a day.

Total across all courses is about 80 or so right now. That'll probably go up to about 90 by the time school starts. Small schools are great :D

I am expecting more kids this year because I have 5 classes, where as last year I had only 4. I had roughly 100 kids last year (not including my PM class which would make it 120).

I am expecting well over 130 kids this year.

About 150. Ugh. My admins decided, in their infinite wisdom, to hire fewer teachers this years because "the research says having smaller classes doesn't make any difference". Whatever!

I sold a prep so I have 6 classes this year.

    Physical Science (Honors)--2 classes--33 students
    Physics Academics--2 classes--32 students
    Physics (Honors)--2 classes--33 students

I might also have some Phsical Science Standard students mixed in with my Physical Science Honors because my 2 classes are not even 0ne has 24 and the other has 9. They might give me 6 standard students in that class so I would be doing alot of differentiating.

As of Friday I had..135 -137(I think) But it will change..

I think the line-up is something like this

1st-26 (within about 15 minutes of seeing how many I had here, I'd lost one girl and gained someone different in her place)
    2nd-18
    4th-23
    5th-25 (or close to it)
    6th-25
7th-18 (in this class I had 16 on Wed or Thurs..2 were special needs..Fri morning, same thing..but Friday afternoon I'd lost one of the 2 and gained 2 in her place plus 1 gained from the 14)

This total comes to 135..but I could be forgetting some numbers. Last year I had 153-155..

I have 125 total across 5 classes. Four of my five classes are maxed out (in business/computer lab w/28 computers each) and the other is a programming class that they won't add students to after the first week of school.

I am picking up another class this year so I expect to have around 160 students. Three classes of English 1, two classes of Pre-AP English 1 and two classes of English 3. We lost a planning period to supposedly make smaller classes....could be a red herring. I will find out once I get class lists.

I moved to a much smaller school but I went from a block schedule to a seven period schedule so I actually see more students in a day now

Gateway English -13 (at risk students)
    English II -61 (two classes)
    English I -50 (two classes)
Freshman Transition -26 this semester about the same next semester

Latin I - 27 total, over two classes
    Latin II - 18
    Latin III H - 15
    AP Latin - 6

So I have a total of 66 students. I love it!

Our classes are capped at 33 so I fully expect to have 5 classes of 33 plus 33 for advisory, so that's 198. I am so jealous of those of you who have only 25 or 28 - that would be my dream! My smallest class last year had 30.

I think 22-26 is the perfect size for a class....I had 2 classes like that last year. Odds are I WON'T have that this year. I'll possibly find out tomorrow but I doubt I'll get my list till Tuesday.

Not great, but not too bad.

    Spanish 2 = 42
    Spanish 3 = 47
    Spanish 4 = 26

    115

I've had worse years. And last year I had a class of 13 and they honestly were one of my most behaviorally challenged groups in 11 years.

    34 - 5th per.
    33 - 6th per.
    15 - 8th per.
    20 - 10th per.

114 total--I have a few kids twice a day (reading & L.A.) but I'm excited that my first period is only 17 kids! Of course, they're the lowest kids, and I'm sure it'll feel like 30, but I'm still basking in the joy of a small class. This will also be the first year I loop with some students. Should be interesting. . .

    120 in 5 classes.

Last year I think I had barely a hundred, so I've got more this year, but I can't complain. My biggest class is 25, and some teachers have 32 in one class.

I teach electives so my numbers change a lot the first few days. In one class I think I've lost 5 off my original roster and gained 4, so that's 9 people changing. I'm not writing names in my attendance book for another week and am doing it on a separate piece of paper in the meanwhile. As of end of the school day on Friday my numbers weren't bad at all: 27, 13 and 18. We do block scheduling so I teach three blocks and also have a study hall with 27 in it for half a block.
