I got my class list today and I have 6 sections.
I have 28 kids in my homeroom class that i teach reading, history, and language arts to...In my afternoon history/language class I have 25 kids...This is 4th grade and all 6 of our classes have at least 25...some of the teachers have 29 or 30...I think our cap is at 30, but we have no more classrooms or portables open so our principal isn't hiring any new teachers which means big classes !
This is a big change b/c i just switched from private school to public and my old school had only 13 kids in my class last year...
my official count is 24 but I also have a homeschooler who is not on the roster that will join us for specials only
We just got an official count of 21 3rd graders. Of course, since people are so transient anymore, that could change in an instant!
I feel sorry for the one girl! Do you think she will feel like the odd one out?

I have 25 in each class so that is 75 total. Didn't even look ahead to next semester.

There will be 20 students in my classroom :
- 10 (3rd grade)
- 10 (4th grade)
But for my English lessons, there will be 28 students !
I will have 25 only! Yahooooo!
I usually have apporiximately 22 first graders. I will most likely teach a 1/2 combo this year and will have a cap of 18. We don't get our class lists until the last minute.
As of Monday:24
As of Wednesday: 25
As of this morning: 26
As of this evening: 27!!!
I am not joking, and school hasn't even started yet!
I am up to 30 K students and the number is still climbing. School doesn't start for over 2 weeks (after Labor Day!)
As of Monday- 18
As of Tuesday- 18
As of Wednesday- 18
As of Thursday- 18
As of TODAY- 20!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I think I'll be fine. Key word: think. I had 21 last year, though... 14 the year before, and 18 my first year.
Our fourth grade teachers would be THRILLED with 20....they each have 32!
I just found out today that I will be the only fifth grade teacher (as of right now!)! So much for having only 11 students!!!! Geez! Anyone in Baltimore, MD looking for an elementary job????
I have 17 so far
I imagine that the list will continue to grow!
I have 23 as of today. I sure hope that number holds!!

I have 14 as of today.
Wow! Small bunch.
I had been told 28, but according to my roll sheet, I've got 26, but then there's a kid in for the summer who will likely stay for fall, so that makes 27...so who knows! I am not going to be filling in my grade book just yet.
I will have 29 in my classroom. 2/3 of the class, girls.
Right now I have 23 on my roster. Two kids haven't showed up yet, but I have heard that one of them has moved and one of them will come later, her parents got married and didn't know school started. Yikes! So I'll probably have 22. Which is nice, but everyone is around 23-24, so when we get new kids, I'll get them.

I just got tentative numbers on Friday. I have a total of 166 students with the smallest class at 27 and the largest at 32.
My list grew to 18. My new one on my list was originally on another teacher's list. The mom requested the change after meeting her child's original teacher.
We had 63 third graders sign up and we have only 2 teachers, so that was over 30 kids a class!!! Luckily I think they're hiring another third grade teacher, so I should end up with a good sized class.
30 kids! *YIKES* You have a full day TA, right? You would have to, I'm sure.
Good luck with that! Bless you-I'd go stark crazy with that many kindergarteners!
As of right now I have 21 students. We have 7 3rd grade teachers and so far we all have 21 or 22. I'm in a really really fast growing county, so I expect to get a little higher but hopefully not too high. 21 is a good number to start off with. Although I wish I had 16 like some of the 2nd grade classes in my building. lol. We cap out at 29 so I really really hope it doesn't get to that!!!
Sundrop, the one girl I am getting (along with 8 wild boys) will be new to the school. She visited in May and stayed for the day. They say she did just fine. I met her mother and she said that her daughter doesn't have a problem with being the only girl. It helps that her best friend is a boy and is transferring to our class, too. Should be interesting.
When I was student teaching, a friend of mine student taught in a class with 34 (yes 34) kindergarteners. Just one teacher too.
I am still at 18 (thankfully). If any other inclusion students come in, they will go in my room, so I could go up more.
19. (Giggle) I've had 18, 20, and 19 in this past week.
I have 30 3rd graders in my class right now. We are jammed in like sardines!
