I am wondering how many students each of you have in your elementary classes. I have 28, but I have colleagues with 30+ in Elementary school.

I have 19 in third grade (12 boys, 7 girls), but most of my grade-level colleagues have 20 or 21. I had a last minute drop that put with the smallest class in the grade-level.

2nd grade with 30 kids. Our school promises we cap at 25 but the board let's more people in. Lots of angry parents.

I have 27 in 5th grade, which is a pretty high number in my area. However, from what I read on here, I should probably consider myself lucky.

I'll find out this week sometime, but I suspect it will be over 30 in my grade 7'class.

28 in 5th grade. It's the maximum allowed by state law.

Yikes. I have 25 2nd graders and even that feels like too many. I don't even know what I'd do with 5 more.
When I student taught we had 18-20 through the year and I miss those numbers.

(4th grade) 26 last I heard/saw, but I'm back to business today, so the numbers may change before we do our meet and greet this week. Last spring we were looking like it was going to be near 30, and I'm in a portable, so I'm glad for the change downward!

We can have up to 32. I think I'm going to have 28 but depends on new kids and if anyone moved. We don't start until the 8th.

I think our max number before we would get another teacher, at fourth grade, is about 30 or 31. Like Bunnie, the students don't start until next week (the 6th), so it could definitely change. Last year, there were two kids who didn't show up the first day, and we found out who had moved. That immediately took my class from 26 to 24. (I'd prefer to have the most in my grade to start than the least...means that you aren't the first class to get a new kid in the middle of the year!)

25 that are with me all day plus two more that come in after lunch (my inclusion kiddos).
I have the lowest number in third grade; other teachers have up to 29 not counting any inclusion students.

28 right now, but I can have (and possibly will have) up to 32. I'm at a charter so it depends on if those spots fill. I'm enjoying it for now. I'm used to 28 - I've had that the last two years.

I'll get my class list tomorrow, but got numbers today as we were working on assigning lockers for each class. I'll have 32 total--4 will be withdrawn about two-thirds of the time for math, literacy, or both.
