    Just wondering, another post got me thinking. I know I work in the largest district in my state by far, and was just curious how it compared to other places.

    We have over 100 elementary schools, 40ish junior highs, and 20-something high schools.

    7 elementaries, 2 middle, and 1 high school. We have around 9,000 students total.

    I used to work in a similar sized district by total student count, but it had 13 Elementaries, 4 middle, and 2 high schools.

    Where I'm working right now- 12 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 2 high schools.
    I grew up in a district with 4 elementaries, 1 middle and 1 high.
    I will be working this fall in a district with 2 elementaries, 1 middle, and 1 high school.

    I couldn't imagine working in such a large district! Of course, there are more opportunities for collaboration, but I'm used to small towns and knowing almost everyone.

    I'm in a charter school, no district.

    The district in my area is huge. The number is in the hundreds.

    My hometown, where I went to school, had 2 schools: K-8 and HS.

    My new district has 19 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 3 high schools. It's actually the district I went to growing up, and it has grown a lot since I attended school. I'm not sure about the number of elementary schools, but there was only one middle/junior high and 2 high schools when I was a student.

    We are small.

    * 1 prek/k
    * 1 elementary (1/2)
    * 1 intermediate (3-5)
    * 1 middle (6-8)
    * 1 high (9-12)

    There are between 150-200 students in each grade.

    Mine is not even in the top 5 in size in the area, but I feel like it's a good size for a suburban district. We cover about 88 square miles.

    High schools: 4 traditional (with a bond issue for a 5th in 2 years)

    Middle schools: 9 (with number 10 on the way)

    Elementary schools: 31 (including 1 EC-PreK center)

    Alternative schools: 1 behavior alternative (that serves all grades k-12), 1 academic alternative (9-12)

    Our enrollment is around 50,000 with lots of growth expected in the next 10 years.

    I taught in a district like this. I miss seeing how the younger kids would look up to the high school kids. Thankfully, most of them were worth looking up to.

    My current district is larger and the elementary, middle, and high school are separate campuses.

    The district I worked in before this one had about fifty schools.

    I used to work in a 4-school district. However, I've mostly worked in a 34-school district (I believe the largest in my county). I liked both just about equally.

    We have two pre k-3 campuses. One 4-5 campus. One 6-8 and one 9-12.
    When I first started going to school in the 70's my school district was all on one campus. Then we built a high school. It was finished when I was in the 4th grade. They didn't build a separate elementary until I was I high school. Then when my kids started school they built a second elementary school.
