I'm going back to in person teaching, so I need enough masks so I can switch them out if needed during the day. I have 5 that I find comfortable, and have filters, and 4 lighter ones that I can wear outside for a bit, or running into stores. I'm wondering if 5 is enough for school? How many do you have?

DH and I wanted enough so that we would easily have masks for two weeks without doing laundry. We each have about 20 now. I make ours.

Well, I currently have over 200, but I sell them, so most of those will by dyed and shipped out. I also ordered 50 KN95 masks because they are recommended for 8-hour use only (though I'll try to stretch them a bit longer.) I plan to wear cotton masks over them, so I'll probably keep 10-15 that I like. Plus I end up keeping the "oops" masks that turn out ugly, so I'll have plenty! I've dyed so many masks in school colors lately.

I have 6 cloth ones now and have ordered another couple. I also have about 25 single use ones. We learned yesterday that teachers will be provided with "medical masks" but don't know more than that.

I made more masks today. I made some for my BFF and her family. Oh, and one more Star Wars one for DH.

Between the two of us we have probably about 20. When I thought we were going back in-person, I planned to have two cloth masks per day (change out after lunch) and also some disposable ones in my desk drawer in case I ever forgot a mask. Now, students are remote, but as of right now, teachers have to teach virtually from the building. I will just bring one cloth mask, as I plan to not have a mask on when I am alone in my classroom teaching. I will put it on whenever I leave my room.

Can you share where you found them? That's a good price. I got 5 for $20 and previously paid $10 each for 3 different ones. I got one from school and now I have 9 so I can wash them once a week. I want to get a few more. I do not change them during the day but keep a spare in my bag.

We have a couple but wear the same single use one every time. It’s the only one I feel like I can breath with.

I buy my plain white ones in bulk and it makes them cheaper, but you have to need 100 or so of them. I sell them for a little over cost, and I've used the extra money to: give masks to people who can't afford them, donate to organizations helping with Covid relief, and keep my dye supplies stocked. But I've found them as cheap as $2 a piece, if you buy a lot of them!

Are they just the cotton masks? Or are they sewn? I really have come to hate the pleated sewn masks. I might just throw the ones i have out. They have become uncomfortable after a few washes.

They are cotton ones. The way all this started was that the city handed out some for free, and I thought they looked like underpants, so I tie dyed them. Then people asked for them, so I sold them to friends, and then friends of friends, and now strangers on the Internet. This like is basically what they look like when they come in.

Those are what I have mostly except the bands are thinner. There are all sorts of fancy ones but the material is so scratchy!

I agree. I do have a few made by friends or that I bought for other people that I really like, but the straps irritate my ears. The straps on the ones I get are just cotton T-shirt material, so they don't bother me as much.

I have some KN95s to wear under them in the classroom. The straps on those irritate me, so I'm hoping they'll stay in place under the cotton masks without the straps on.
