I'm wondering how many hours a day most teachers work and what their school schedules are.

    Thanks

    Last year-
    kids: 745-225
    Teachers: 715-300

    This year-
    kids: 830-330
    teachers: 800-400

however, I usually stick around for an hour or more depending of the parents pick up their kids on time!!!! It was the last month of school and we STILL had kids staying until almost 300 because their parents "forgot"....

I have to be at school from 7:50 to 3:20.
I like to get there 45-60 minutes early.
I usually have 2-3 hours of work at home in the evening.

My contract hours are from 7:50-3:20.

    I usually work from 7:15-4:00.

Sometimes I stay later or bring work home with me, but not all that often. When I do bring things home, they're rarely things that have to be done, but things I just want to do.

    Teachers: 7:30 - 3:30

I usually stay until 4:15ish (have to pick my son up at daycare by 4:30), but I bring work home with me at night and sometimes go in on one day during the weekend.

The sitter gets to my house at 7:10.

I'm at school by 7:30, in my homeroom by 7:35ish.

    Homeroom starts at 8:10.

School ends at 2:48. I normally give extra help until about 3:45.
I pick up the kids around 4.

Then sometimes I spend time grading, sometimes my evenings are taken up with family stuff.

I do most of my prep work over the summer, so that's a huge chunk of work I don't deal wtih.

    My contracted hours are 8:30-4:00.

I usually get to school by 8am. Once or twice a week I stay until about 5:30 or 6pm. The other days I leave at 4. I very rarely take work home, only sometimes over the weekend.

I am usually at work by 7:15 and leave by 3:15. At this point (5 years in), I do not bring home too much work. During the cold winter months, I usually try to refine some lessons on Saturday mornings.

I am going to have to get my dear husband to read these posts! He thinks school is a 9 to 3 job! He thinks I'm not doing it right as I almost always the last to leave. Even then, when I do leave there is still so much to do.

    kids: 8.20 - 3.05
    teachers 8.00 - 4.00

We have meetings every Mondayand every second Tuesday for curriculum. This means I get behind with tidying and filing so I stay on the rest of the week. (Usually leave at 5.15 pm and pick up my children (all high school) from their school library).

My hours are usually 7:45-5:30. Some days I leave earlier, some days I leave later, but the average is probably 5:30. When I started teaching, I used to bring more work home, but now I'm more organized and driven to get that work done in school instead of home. I have a fiance and puppy to spend time with now, so I try to not bring too much home. There's always something I do over the weekend though. Also, I do a lot of work over the summer.

Kids 8:20 - 3:00. Doors open at 7:45, announcements at 8:20, class at 8:30. Last group of bus kids are out of my room by 3:15.

Me: 7:45 - 3:30 mandated. Last year my goal was to leave by 5:30 latest and do less on weekends and eves. Worked for part of the year.

Never in school on weekends - except possibly the weekend before school opens. Never on Sunday!

    Actual hours: 7:20 - 4:15
I bring no work home. I work a huge amount in the summer so I won't have to work as much during the year.
The more organized I've become, the more efficient I've become. I've added some things to my plate this year so I figure I will be done at 4:30 this year.

Last year my schedule was arrive at 8:00 and leave at 3:30.

I'm moving so my schedule will be a little different next year. Arrive at 7:30 and leave at 3:00.

I have four kids and so I usually arrive right when I have to! Don't get there too much before required time just because I am getting them off to school.

I had did an extra duty assignment last year so would stay later on that day...most days I leave right around the time my duty day ends. I try to stay ahead of things or take them home so I don't have to put in a lot of extra hours at school...my OWN kids keep me busy off hours! :)

    Last year,
    Students 9:20-4:00
    Teachers 8:45-4:30

Typically I would get in at around 8:30 since I have to get my kids off their buses at 9am. I would stay till around 5 on Tues/Thurs. I typically don't take things home. Next year I'm sure that will change since I'm now ESE team leader. I love following the FlyLady system for organization and tend to work through lunch.

The official hours are 7:30 to 3:00. My real hours are 7:00 to 4:00. I usually bring things home to grade but I refuse to work weekends. I know teachers that leave at 3:00 but come in on Sundays. Not me!

    Kids' school day: 9:25 - 3:30
    Contract day for teachers: 8:55 - 4:00

I am usually there at 8:30, 8:00 for some meetings, and am often there until 5-5:30. I do a lot of planning in the summer.

I have kids as well, and I try to get out a little earlier as much as possible. And I don't teach on Fridays - I am a .8. But I usually end up going in and planning and doing paperwork that day while my kids are in school.

I am a resource room teacher for K-5, and until last year, I did not have a real lunch or planning time because I have to work around so many other schedules. But last year I did, and that is going to be the usual from now on.

    Contracted time 7:30 to 3:30.
Kids are there from 7:37 to 3:00. They eat breakfast in the classroom first thing in the morning.

My actual time is usually from 6:45 to 4:30. We have meetings on Wednesdays that usually end around 4:15. I'm there early because I tutor kids from 7:15 to 7:30(extra help in Reading).

I used to take home a lot of stuff to grade, but now that I'm doing Literacy work stations and Daily five, I don't have piles of stuff to grade. They have their journals for each station, and I check them on Friday before I go home, or when they come to my table for guided reading. At least that is how I did it last year. I'm hoping to check the work when I do conferences with the children during work stations this year.
I do my planning on the weekend. All of our lesson planning is done online, and that takes a couple of hours to enter into the templates on Sunday afternoon. I usually am sitting on my couch with the laptop at home for that.

    Students 8:40-3:00
Teachers 8:10-3:15 This is whats written down, but we have some flexibilty there. As long as you get the time in, no one really cares how you divide it up.

I usually get there at 7:45 (right after my own kids are off to school) and I leave pretty much when the kids do. I don't take much work home either, at least not daily.
