I'm tired, I wake up at 4:40 almost every morning regardless of how late or how early I go to bed. After I'm up and going I'm ok, but I'm sure tired right now. I rarely ever get more than six hours of good sleep, I guess it's going to be a "getting old" thing.

I wake up every morning between 4:50 and 4:55--I never need to set an alarm. Just like you, Hoot Owl, it doesn't matter when I go to sleep.

I'm really tired, especially this a.m. since I actually stayed up to 10:30, I usually drag my bones to bed around 9'ish. It was supposed to sleet last night, I'm going to check in a minute for school closings. If there's no school, I'm going back to bed even if I have to just lay there wide awake.

MrsC, do you take naps when you get home from school? I'd like to but I'm not that sleepy then.

This week, not much. I keep waking up around 2:30 or 3:00.

If I'm good, I sleep from 11:00 to about 6:00. 7 hours. But often it's much less. I run a few days a week so I wake up at 5:30 to do that. And often I stay up later. Sometimes I go to bed earlier like 9:00 (tonight) and sleep all the way through.

I hate sleeping these days. I have total insomnia.

Doesn't the running help with the insomnia? I used to religiously walk 3 miles a day at least 5 days a week and barely slept 7 hours which is better than what I do most of the time now.

Do you get sleepy during the day? If I'm not really busy at school I could lay down after lunch and take a quick nap.

I've never been a napper, Hoot Owl. I end up feeling worse. I'm okay when I get home, too, and I'm usually driving my daughter to some practice or another after dinner. I do "hit the wall" at about 9:00 though, so I get into my jammies, crawl into bed and read for a bit. Lights are usually out by 9:30 if I can.

I usually get around 7-8 hours a night. On the weekends, I can never sleep in. Sometimes it drives me nuts because I would like to be lazy for a day but I never can be.

    Short Answer: between 5.5 - 6 hours

Long Answer: normally i feel EXHUSTED like I can barely keep my eyes open from about 4:30 - 7:00. Then, my head starts to hurt, but I can't settle down to fall asleep. So I end up staying until about midnight, then my alarm goes off around 5:50 but I keep pressing snooze until like 6:10. I lay around in bed until 6:20 then finally I get up

Lately I've been going to bed much earlier around the 9-11 range at night, much to the annoyance of DH.

He calls me boring, I call myself refreshed!

I'm a real night owl, but not as much on workdays of course. I could go to bed as late as 11:30 on worknights (waking up at 6:15am) & on Fridays, Sats, & vacation days, forget about it! I don't go to bed until 2 something in the morning, but my body still naturally wakes up (w/o an alarm clock) around 7:30 - 8:30am.

I have a 1-year old who rarely sleeps through the night without needing something. I usually get to bed around 11:00p (when I've finally finished all the household chores + my work for school) and then I get up at 6:30am. So that would be 7 1/2 hours of sleep... until you factor in all the times I wake up during the night (either b/c of my son or b/c I *think* I hear him). I feel like I haven't slept in about 15 months!

I'm never in bed before 11:00, and I generally fall asleep around midnight. My alarm stays set for 6:30, but I'm almost always awake between 5:00-6:00. Last night I fell asleep around midnight, and I woke up at 4:00. I watched television from 4:00-6:00. (School cancelled due to ice.)

Sometimes I'll feel tired, and I'll think I should go to bed early. I'll go to sleep at 10:00, and then I'm awake around 3:00. Ugh.

I get around 7 to 8 hours a night. Usually 9 on the weekends. Sometimes I like to go up to my room at 8 at night and just relax with the cat and watch TV and fall asleep early.

Yes, you'll probably get used to it and wake up at 6:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and every morning in the summer...

I have to be in bed by around 9:00 then up at 6am. I sleep an average of 9 hours per night and it works for me. I NEED my sleep. I get really cranky without it! I LOVE it when I wake up realizing I've slept straight through!!! Ahhhhhhh......

Usually, I'm in bed around 1130 and up around 630. However, I'm finding my body needs more sleep. So I'm going to try to get to bed by 1100.

On the weekends, I usually sleep in until about 9 on Saturday and 8 on Sundays. I'm not a napper either.

Usually around 5 hours a night. I don't require a whole lot of sleep and I have always gone to bed late and gotten up early. My mom tells stories of me staying up in my crib babbling to myself until 1 am and then was ready to play around 5:30! haha she says she hopes I have one just like me so that I will finally know what it's like to be tired.

I never get to sleep straight through the night. DF wakes me making noise or letting the dogs out around 11ish, but I usually fall right back to sleep. Than he wakes me up again when he comes to bed around 2ish. Than it takes me about an hour to two hours to fall back to sleep. I get up at 6am and go to bed at 10pm. So I should be getting 8 hours.

I would love to take a nap when I get home (when not coaching) but if I do I sleep for three hours. And if I don't sleep three hours I wake up a total grump. So its better that I wait until bed time.

I don't think I'll ever be a morning person. If I don't HAVE to wake up early, meaning 6:30 or earlier, I won't. You won't see me at the gym or going for a walk at 5am.

About 6 hours. I should sleep more, but I hate going to bed early. If I could, I'd love to stay up until 2 a.m. and wake up around 10 a.m. Where's the school that would accommodate that schedule? ;)

TampaTeacher, that is me. I love to stay up late, and stay in bed. I just hate getting out of that nice warm bed. And, in the summer, it is too hot to sleep until midnight or so.

My best job was one that I could take a nap during lunch time. Several of us would take the classroom timer to wake us up after an hour.

That's awesome! Teacher naptime! I want it!

My best work schedule was when I worked for a newspaper. I worked from about 10 to 6, but I also had the freedom to adjust my schedule if needed, as long as I got the work finished and put in enough hours. Sometimes, I'd go in super early. Sometimes, I'd roll in around 11:30 in the morning. Sooooooo nice.

Sorry for hijacking, but it's kind of on topic. :)

I usually get to bed past 10:30. Then it takes me about 20 minutes to relax and wind down. I'm usually just wide awake! Which annoys me. Why do I get so sleepy at school? And about an hour before bedtime? But when it's time to actually lay down and sleep, I can't turn my worries off. It's hard to relax most nights. Of course, when my alarm goes off at 5:30 I feel like I could sleep another three hours!
