How many days of instruction do you have each year and what are your hours? We go 178 days of instruction with hours 8-3.

Ohio is switching to hours of instruction (1001) and we'll be way over. Just curious what everyone else's schedule is like.

We have between 180-190 depending on snow days, 200 days on the school calendar including PD and admin days. Our instruction technically runs from 8:55 - 3:45.

180 student days (instruction) and 10 PD/teacher days.

My school is from 8-3 pm (contract is from 7:50 to 3:10). All schools in my district have 7 hour days with start times staggered due to MTA bus schedules.

183 instructional days, student day is 7:30-2:45. They're talking about increasing student hours to "keep up with the wealthy districts." Many of the other low SES areas have increased their student hours to 8-8.5 hours a day in an attempt to make up for how far behind the kids come into K.

I wasn't quite sure, so I looked it up for WI:
    Each school board shall:

    (f) 1. Schedule at least 180 school days annually, less any days during which the state superintendent determines that school is not held or educational standards are not maintained as the result of a strike by school district employees

    2. Annually schedule at least 437 hours of direct pupil instruction in kindergarten, at least 1,050 hours of direct pupil instruction in grades 1 through 6 and at least 1,137 hours of direct pupil instruction in grades 7 to 12. Scheduled hours under this subdivision include recess and time for pupils to transfer between classes but do not include the lunch period.

198 student days, we're an extended year. Makes approximately 1,300 instructional hours, way over what the state requires. Student hours are 8-3:15.

Teacher hours are 7:30-3:30. We get 45-50 min. for lunch plus one special a day.

Iowa public school students are required to go 180 days. Next year schools have a choice to switch to hours instead of days. Anyone going with hours would have to go 1080 hours...which is about 172 days. Honestly, switching to hours works more in your favor!

    Our students attend from 8:25-3:20.

Texas schools must have at least 180 days, but there isn't a set number of hours.

I believe my district has 180 instructional days. I'm not sure if there is a required number of instructional hours.

I also think we're at 180 days (since I'm not contracted, I don't remember the numbers), though I remember an e-mail recently that mentioned that we have the option of going to hours next year or soon after, but that we're sticking with the days right now because otherwise it might eat into our current model of having early release on Wednesdays for PD.
