Let's see... it's been exactly 2 years since I started substitute teaching.

What about the rest of you?

I just started in January. It's kind of amazing how much I've learned in such a small period of time. Hopefully I keep learning and getting better!

I also just started in January. I've been doing research since last August though. I love this job!

Last Monday I was in a second grade inclusion class. There were 4 other adults in the room with me (one SPED teacher and 3 aides). At first, I was nervous because I did not want to mess up in front of these experienced professionals. However, the SPED teacher later told me that she could not believe that I was not an experienced (real) teacher. She said I really went in depth with the lessons and was wonderful with the students. She wanted an extra business card to post in the teacher's lounge and said she would recommend me to everyone.

This is my 3rd year of subbing. I started late in the year when my daughter was in 4th grade. I love my job. I hope to continue subbing until my children go to college, and maybe beyond that!!

I've been subbing for about 5 months. At first, I only wanted 1/2 day mornings. I soon realized that those times were few and far between, so now I've been taking full day jobs, too.

I subbed for 7 years before I got my first full time job. Then I subbed a year after that. Then I worked full time for 4 years. Now I am back to subbing again and it is a year. I guess it is 9 years. I am looking into aide jobs. Terry G.

I started subbing this school year. It's been amazing. I now know that teaching is what I was meant to do. It's also been educational for me. Secondary just isn't for me. Upper elementary and middle school is where it's at.

I just started in January, but as many different experiences as I've had - it feels like it's been forever!
