Maybe a silly question... How long do you keep up butcher paper on your walls? I don't have bulletin boards so I create imaginary ones. I have a huge piece of fabric that I've had on my wall for two years, it's getting kind of grody, but I'm sure I can rearrange things a bit to make it look better. I have a few other areas with butcher paper that I put up last year that I want to keep up. Do you think it'll still look nice later in the year?
I leave mine up all year. The darker colors fade even without having windows! The lighter colors work better especially yellow and light blue. I wouldn't leave it up more than a year unless you are going to leave the same thing on it!
I normally keep mine up for one school year. I purchase the fadeless paper from the teaching shop, so I don't have to worry about it fading and not looking nice. It is a little more expensive, but well worth the money.
Well, I leave up all year.... but do you leave it up for two years or more? The giant wall of fabric has been up for two years so far. It's my calendar wall, and it changes through out the year. It's getting kind of faded though. Then I have a few other areas. One is a student work wall, blank squares of butcher paper where we place our reading workshop charts through out the year, and then a display in our reading area.
I leave mine up all year. My room is being used for a summer program right now and they'll leave the paper up for me...so it will be going into its second year! It doesn't look faded...yet.
I had fabric up in one of my classrooms for 4 years and it still looked decent. I only leave butcher paper up for a school year.
I've used fabric for six years and it still looks good. When I've used butcher paper, I only used it for a month or o, and it faded. I've used the fadeless paper for a year before I discovered fabric.
I use yellow and light blue butcher paper, it doesn't fade, and it's not "fadeless" or anything. It's great!
I'm going on my 4th year w/ my light blue fadeless butcher paper and it still looks nice. I don't plan on changing it anytime soon.
