how far is your commute?

My commute is four miles of rural two-lane highway. I've never timed it, really. It is quick, though.

My current one is 16 miles each way, about 30 minutes.

My last one was projected at 45 minutes, 34 miles away--but if there was traffic, it was an hour there and an hour and fifteen back. If it snowed, then there was always automatically traffic, and it was about two there and two back.

    I am so relieved!

It takes between 20-30 minutes in the morning and about 30 in the evening. I have no idea of the mileage.

Next year, we hope to purchase a house. I would love to keep the commute under 30 minutes, but we are interested in places closer to my fiance's work which is more like 40 minutes away. I figure, I can avoid the traffic with teacher hours better than he can, plus I like the towns out that way and we have friends there. Nonetheless, I don't like long commutes and my ideal would be 10 minutes to keep some distance from my personal life.

It is about 5 minutes. I never ever dreamed I would live so close to work. My last position was an hour and a half (but only 15 miles-San Franscisco traffic), and one of my positions was two hours each way!! It almost seems absurd to me that I'm so close now!!

45 minutes if there is no wind. At my new school I can get there without having to wait at a single stoplight.

I missed that you got a different school. I hope your room is larger than your last one!

    I live in Jersey... ;)

I just moved closer so now I only have to drive 4.1 miles (about 10 minutes) to get to work.

Prior to moving, I lived about 16 miles away and I could get to school or home any where from 20 minutes (morning) to an hour+ in the afternoons since I had to take the parkway (Jersey peeps will know how the parkway can be...).

I grew up at 98, then moved up to 148 for the last 5 years, now I'm down to 140.

It's really nice up by 168- you get away from all the traffic and craziness I think :thumb:

(I love that in Jersey you can speak with exit numbers to explain where you live/where you're going)

I will be driving about 30 miles each way this year - up from 20 in my previous post. I'll also have to deal with traffic this year; my last school was in the country- away from traffic! Stocking up on audiobooks for the drive!

That's kind of nice in that if you want to go home for lunch, you can! Or if you forget an umbrella, etc. you can whoosh back there during recess, etc. :thumb:

9 miles about 20-25 minutes. I haven't actually driven it yet... but it sounds about right.
