I have a wonderful library of at least 500 books. I do not know how to level the books. I've sorted them into categories already. How do I level the books?

I've googled level books, or something like that, to find different databases that help to level books. There's one here and Scholastic has one.

    Good luck!

Depends on how you want to level it. Some teachers use lexiles, some accelerated readers, some Guided Reading Level (F and P)...I use GRLs.

I have multi colored coding stickers to assign a level range (100 point lexile range, 2 letters in Guided Reading Levels). I look the book up on one of several websites. The best one I've seen is:

    http://src.scholastic.com/ecatalog/default.asp?UID=22A5C0E2982F42E70B420543BC4241CE&subt=0&Test=NA

You can search by title or author and click on the title you're seeking out. This site gives lexile and GRL.

    It's worth it :)

I agree with MissHunny on the book wizard. Not only can you level books, but you can save lists of books that you use for your units year in and year out. You can also print out these lists for your parents.
