Do you have a monthly theme and then break it up into certian topics for each week or for a couple of days each?

Do you do a theme each week? Or each 2 weeks?

I'm just looking for some ideas..

Last year each theme lasted about two weeks. Some may have been just for one week and others may have needed three weeks to complete. This year, I am not using themes. We started a new reading series and I just don't have time to do any particular themes. Our day is too short and it just doesn't work for me. Makes for easier planning though.

    Sonic,

What do you teach? Pre-S, K or 1st?

    Just wondering. :)

I have a weekly theme, some may be two weeks. I then teach math, reading, writing, art, language arts, etc. that is appropriate for that theme.:p This is for Kindergarten...

Most of the time I have used one large monthly theme, broken up into topics, which are mostly weekly.
