When you accomplish something really big, HOW do you reward yourself? :)

For me, maybe a mini shopping spree. My next big accomplishment coming up should be graduating from grad school, so I'd like to get myself an iMac. Maybe I'll also get a larger screen TV. I only hav a 32" now.

To be honest, I can't think of any of those BIG accomplishments these days. They're mostly small victories, with a chilled glass of wine as a reward.

    Yay for graduating grad school!

Usually, the whole family will go out to dinner at a place of our choosing, go to a movie, etc.

When I got my new job, we went into the city on the light rail, which was really cool. They had a really cool bowling ally that had a full restaurant, so the kids could sit at the table, and then go bowl.

But if I feel like I deserve a break, I go get my nails done or have lunch with some friends.

Actually, I think getting my nice apt this summer is kind of a reward. I've worked hard all these years & deserve it!

    Thanks, but, that's still a ways away...summer of 2014.

I keep Prosecco chilled in the wine fridge for life's little celebrations! Last night was a toast to son's business trip...he flew ths morning to a 3 week training! He's off and away starting his career!

Usually a treat from a coffee shop or some frozen yogurt.

I tend to celebrate with a nice dinner out. The kind where I get to break out the little black dress :)

I have a friend with the same habit. Her explanation is that it's "cheaper than therapy."

No therapy needed...I have much to celebrate. Two college Graduate sons with jobs, an upcoming wedding, health, 29 years of blissful marriage, time with my parents, good friends, a job I love.

She made the comment many years ago, during the hectic crazy busy years of raising young kid, balancing soccer and volleyball practice, teaching full time, and coaching Speech and Debate every day. It's stuck with me for all these years. Sometimes a small reward, like a glass of good wine, makes the rough times a little easier and the good times a bit better.

    Absolutely!
The bubbly is for the good times though...of which I wish you many.

I just like to chill with my husband. Not sure I've ever had the thought, "I worked hard, I deserve a shopping spree."
