At 11 last night, it was -11 with the wind chill at -32. 2:04 right now and it is 1, but it feels like -20.
Nice Dave!!! It was cold. How come one of the smallest & rural schools has not closed in our county when all the bigger ones have?!? My dad's road (dirt rd) just plowed this afternoon said a foot & half of snow on it!!!
Hey, I still want to know how you are keeping warm. Does your heating system handle the low temperatures? Are your pipes freezing? Are you doing anything to keep the heat in? Are you covering the windows, putting blankets on the door to keep the drafts out?
Blue.. bottom of doors covered!!!Doing ok here...try not to open outside doors too often. Do have to say my drinks from garage are so nice and cold!!!
We always turn the heat down at night. My mom turned it down Monday night when she went to bed. I was still up. I had to turn it back up about 15 minutes later. The temperature had dropped 7 degrees in the house in less than 15 minutes!!! Crazy!!! I know people with frozen pipes. We have a heated basement, so we've been fine. My house in NC was on a slab. I would have been worried if I had a house like that here!
Oh- and we have a heat wave. It is currently 16 and feels like 7. Starting Friday it will be much better. F- 37, Sa- 42, Su- 35, M- 40, and T- 35. All the snow should melt.
I think it may warm up enough today (above about 0F with the windchill) for the kids to go outside for recess. Thank goodness, everyone has cabin fever.
This is the Ad in Chicago that The Arizona Office of Tourism put on a building, notice the flip flops on the car below.
It's nicer in Phoenix than it is here! We are looking at mid 80s for the next few days. Too hot for January!
