I'm just curious. I live in VA and am hoping to get in with the district where I live, we have 20,710 kids and 1530 teachers according to the website. How big is the district where you work?

    We have approximately 650 K - 8 students with approximately 100 teachers/support staff. Our 9 - 12 students , about 250, attend a high school outside of our district.

20,000 students, 1700 licensed employees (so this counts curriculum specialists, principals, etc...)
School districts are county wide here.

I taught in a district even smaller than that. We never topped 500. We had an elementary, junior high, and high school and we were all in one building.

That's very similar to the school I grew up attending. I'm at a parochial school now; I'm not sure how big the public district is.

I believe we have over 400,000 children and 21,000 teachers. Not sure if clinicians (speech/psych/OT) count as teachers.

    Edited to add:

We have over 600 schools. Closer to 700 than 600.

1300 students K-12, about 120 teachers and other licensed/certified personnel. All under 1 roof...love that setup.

We have about 6,000 students in 17 schools. Many of the schools are very small. To me, that's huge- but many people around here consider it to be a smaller district. We cover a huge geographic area, but much of it is rural and none of it is city/high population.

I'm going to a much smaller district- I'm not sure the exact number of students, but it's something like 8 schools and only 200 teachers.

We have about 550 students Pre K through 12.

We are all on the same campus. High school and junior high share a building and most of the teachers teach junior high and high school students during the day.

Elementary has its own building and early childhood now has its own building.

My district has 3 elem, 1 ms, and 1 hs for about 4,500-5,000 students. I think there are about 500 or so staff members, but that's just a guess. :)
