After a three year stint in hell at the worst school imaginable, and seven years looking...... I HAVE A JOB! I just got the call, I am not a middle school resource room/reading teacher in LAS VEGAS! I am leaving in a week. Someone pinch me, I think I am going to lose my mind! She didn't even interview me, she just gave me a choice of three jobs! :woot:
I just got the call, I am now a middle school resource room/reading teacher in LAS VEGAS! I'm assuming this is what you meant? What a wonderful position!! What does the family think about it?
LOL, that is what I get for using the tablet instead of the computer to type ANYTHING.... Yes, that is what I meant. The family is still a bit shocked I am doing this, but behind me 100%. My oldest and his wife will stay here with their kids, they are not really happy because they have been living with us and now they are out of time to figure things out for themselves. I love them, but it is time. My daughter is staying with her fiancee and is very happy for me, she is the one the pushed for me to look out of state or otherwise relocate. She told me I have done a great job as a parent and now it was my time to fly. Raised a great kid, didn't I? My call to her left her in tears, but she is happy. My youngest is coming with me and is packing his room as we speak. He is even on board for going small, though as we have to rent at first we will be in a much larger place than I eventually want to have. DH isn't home yet and still doesn't know. My sister is coming to help me pack, other family isn't as supportive, but they are not the ones that really matter.
This is wonderful news!! I hope that your new school treats you well and that you have an excellent year!
That's great! Good for you for being brave enough to venture out to a whole new state. I wish you the very best of luck with the move and your new job.
The phone won't stop ringing today! I was just offered another job, which I did not interview for, at a local district (one that regularly does not pay its teacher btw, from a job fair last May!) That is one interview I need to cancel, and two job offers!
How exciting! A brand new job in a brand new state! Is the son who is moving with you excited to move and will he be starting at a new school?
Yes he is getting there. He particularly liked the argument that he would get mom and dad alone for a year, no sharing with the older siblings! Ahh, youngest child syndrome.
Even better birthday present. Seems the first school never put in the paperwork. So I got a call today from my first choice job, a self contained EI room. The principal spent twenty mins selling me on the school, and I accepted. It is now really official, I have signed a letter of acceptance. Now all I have to do is mail off my application for my Nevada licence. I'm really good at self contained EI, really really good. This is my first choice job and I couldn't be happier.
