This year I made peppermint bark for the first time. I also always make pretzel kisses for any holiday using different holiday colored M&Ms. Does anyone have other holiday goody recipes that aren't cookies? I have tons of cookie recipes, but would like to make up some plates for friends and include some cookies and some non-cookie items. We have a cookie recipe thread going, and I thought a non-cookie thread would be fun, too!
Peanut Butter Kups 2 sticks melted margarine 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs 1 cup peanut butter 2 1/3 cups powdered sugar Mix well and pack in 9x12 pan. Melt 2 cups milk chocolate chips and spread over top. Chill and serve. Store in refrigerator. Easy and tasty! I also have an easy microwave praline recipe...I make (and eat!!)lots of Christmas candy!
My aunt made those pretzel rods dipped in chocolate & white chocolate & rolled them in candy cane pieces...YUMMY!!! I just made peppermint meltaways...tiny little cookies though... they are yummy...one biters...
This one's awesome. A parent of a little girl I had gave some to me a few years ago, and I asked her for the recipe after the holiday. Luckily, I have her younger son now, so maybe she'll make it again! WHITE TRASH M & M's both plain and/or peanut Nuts (whatever kind you like) Rice Chex Mini-pretzels Mix ingredients. Melt 1 or 2 bags of white chocolate. Slowly add and mix all ingredients. Dry mixture on wax paper. Store in airtight container.
Homemade Chex mixes with various seasonings. Somehow, my mother makes Kahlua and gives it to people who like it.
I made liqueurs several years ago--coffee, apricot, almond and raspberry. I had forgotten about that; it's far too late to think about starting it this year, but I may do it next.
Marshmallow Treat Ornaments (a Pampered Chef recipe - that's why some of their specific products are in the recipe) 6 tbsp butter 2½ cups miniature or 18 large marshmallows 2–3 tsp red or green food coloring 5 cups crisp rice cereal 16 pieces thin black or red licorice rope 16 gummy ring candies 3 tbsp decorating nonpareils or colored sugar 1. Melt butter in Executive 4-qt. Casserole over low heat (do not use stainless cookware). Add marshmallows and stir with Mix ‘N Scraper® until completely melted. Remove from heat; add food coloring and stir until well blended. Add cereal to marshmallow mixture and stir until well coated. 2. Using Large Scoop, scoop cereal mixture into 16 rounded portions onto Parchment Paper. Fold one piece of licorice rope in half. Wearing plastic gloves, form an indentation into cereal for licorice. Insert licorice ends into indentation. Lightly pack scoop into a ball around licorice, leaving a 1½-in. loop at the top. Thread one gummy ring over licorice loop to fit on top of ball at base of loop. Repeat with remaining licorice, cereal mixture and gummy rings. 3. Place nonpareils into Coating Tray. Roll each ornament in nonpareils to form a narrow stripe around the middle. Store in an airtight container at room temperature until ready to serve.

They are SUPER easy to make. All you need is a bag of waffle pretzels, hershey kisses, and m&ms. The more different kinds of kisses and different colors of M&Ms that you use, the fancier your plate of pretzel kisses looks.
I strongly dislike pretzels, but thankfully I was forced to try the pretzel treats and fell in love. They look so simple (and they are to make), but the taste is "more" than what you may anticipate. I just love them!
I made these with my kids last weekend. Also for the ears, I found circle shaped sprinkles in pastel colors at Michael's which made them even cuter. I'm going to make a batch for my coworkers.
What about fudge? You can make it the regular way. I make the five minute fudge in the microwave! lol All you need is a bag of chocolate chips, 1/2 stick of butter, and one can of sweetened condensed milk. Dump it all together and throw in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds for three minutes. Sometimes it is a little longer, but generally it is three minutes, throw it in the fridge and in a few hours you can take it out and cut it. I love quick and easy. We also make IDK what it is called, but it is the Chinese noodles- chow mien, and chocolate chips- just heat it in the micro and it is delicious! Quick easy treat. There is another really great treat that is easy too, but I cannot remember it right now, I do not even remember what it is. hmmm, if I think of it I will post.
I make fudge every year using a recipe I got from Carnation. It's not quite as simple as the microwave version, but I've never had a bad batch (never grainy, which a lot of other fudge I've had is). You can make so many different variations, too. I love to add mint or orange extract, use milk or dark chocolate chips, and if you can find the caramel swirl chips--they are excellent! Yields: 24 servings (2 pieces per serving) Ingredients•1 1/2 cups granulated sugar •2/3 cup (5 fl.-oz. can) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk •2 tablespoons butter or margarine •1/4 teaspoon salt •2 cups miniature marshmallows •1 1/2 cups (9 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels •1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional) •1 teaspoon vanilla extract conversion calculator DirectionsLINE 8-inch-square baking pan with foil. COMBINE sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat. STIR in marshmallows, morsels, nuts and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted. Mini-Cheesecakes! 1 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese 3/4 cup white sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line miniature muffin tins (tassie pans) with miniature paper liners. Crush the vanilla wafers, and place 1/2 teaspoon of the crushed vanilla wafers into each paper cup. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Fill each miniature muffin liner with this mixture, almost to the top. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool. Top with a teaspoonful of cherry pie filling. Toffee Bars 1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted and divided 1 cup quick-cooking oats 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Additional chopped walnuts (optional) Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan. In large mixing bowl, combine 6 tablespoons margarine, oats, brown sugar, flour, walnuts and baking soda. Press firmly on bottom of pan. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Meanwhile, in medium saucepan, over medium heat, combine remaining 2 tablespoons margarine and sweetened condensed milk. Cook and stir until mixture thickens slightly, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour evenly over baked crust. Return to oven; bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until golden brown. Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand 1 minute; spread chocolate chips while still warm. Garnish with additional walnuts (optional); press down firmly. Cool thoroughly. Cut into bars. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

Easy Oreo Truffles 1 pkg. Oreo Cookies (can also use Mint Oreos) 1 pkg. cream cheese 16 oz. semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips, melted (add 1 T. shortening to thin it) Crush 9 cookies in food processor, set aside. Crush remaining cookies in food processor. Combine with cream cheese in bowl and mix until well blended and forms a ball that is not too sticky. Refrigerate for 30 min. Place mini cupcake liners on baking sheet and sprinkle some Oreo crumbs into bottom of liners. Roll into 1/2 T. balls, dip into chocolate, then place in liners. Sprinkle the tops w/ Oreo crumbs before choc. hardens. (I use 2 forks to make sort of a "cradle" to dip and remove the truffles from choc. without making a giant mess and to help w/ placing them into liners.) Refrigerate until firm. YUM! Chocolate Brittle Saltine crackers 1 1/2 c. butter 1 3/4 c. packed brown sugar 3 c. chocolate chips 1 c. chopped pecans Preheat oven to 350. Cover a large cookie sheet (the oversized one) w/ foil, then spray foil w/ cooking spray. Place crackers on cookie sheet in a single layer, covering whole sheet. Microwave butter on high for 2 minutes, add brown sugar and stir. Microwave for 2 more minutes, stir every 30 seconds. Pour mixture gently over crackers, then bake for 17-20 minutes. (Should bubble, but NOT burn.) After removing from oven, sprinkle choc. chips over mixture. After the chips have softened, use the back of a spoon to spread them out and cover the whole pan. Sprinkle pecans on top. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Break into pieces. Mint Chocolate Cookie Crunch 3 pkg. choc. chips 1 t. peppermint extract (or a little more to taste, I think I used 2 t.) 1 pkg. Oreos 4 c. crisp rice cereal Line baking sheets w/ waxed or parchment paper. Crush cookies in food processor. Combine cookies and cereal in large bowl. Melt choc. chips, stir in extract. Pour melted chocolate and extract over cookie/cereal mixture and stir until all coated. Drop by tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Place in refrigerator to harden. Haystacks 2 c. choc. chips 2 c. butterscotch chips 2 bags chow mein noodles Melt choc. and butterscotch chips. Stir in chow mein noodles until coated. Drop by tablespoons on wax paper covered baking sheets. Place in refrigerator to harden. Cream Cheese Mints 4 oz. cream cheese 1 T. butter, softened (not melted!) 3 c. powdered sugar (may need more) 2 t. mint extract and food coloring desired (I left mine white and sprinkled red and green sugar on top) In large bowl, combine cream cheese, butter, sugar, and flavoring/coloring. Mix well! Roll into small balls (dip tops in colored sugar, if desired) and place on waxed paper. Flatten with a fork to make a grid pattern on top. Refrigerate to harden. Rolo Pretzels Grid pretzels Rolos Holiday (or other colored) M&Ms Preheat oven to 325. Cover baking sheet w/ nonstick foil. Arrange pretzels in a single layer on pan. Place one rolo upside down on each pretzel. Place in oven for 4-6 minutes, just until chocolate begins to melt and caramel softens (they will NOT change shape, so do NOT overbake!!). Remove from oven, and press one M&M into each rolo to smush it down onto the pretzel. Refrigerate to harden. Ritz P.B. Sandwiches Use Ritz crackers and PB to make sandwiches. Dip in melted choc. or white chocolate. (Then, if desired, dip a fork in the opposite color and drizzle over so they looked more "finished".) Place on waxed paper, refrigerate to harden.
TeacherGrl, your pretzel recipe is so easy, it's perfect. Trouble for me is, they taste So Good I can't stop sampling. I will be up all night making these goodies. I got some great gift boxes at Daiso for $1.50 each. Yay!
I made your fudge recipe last night. It turned out great and was so easy. I put walnuts on top and next time i'm going to try peanutbutter.
I'm glad it worked for you! Word of warning, though--sometimes when I do peanut butter or caramel, it turns out a little softer. A few extra marshmallows seem to do the trick...
I was going to try to swirl some peanut butter on top then chill it. I don't want the whole thing to be pb. I don't like the pb morsels.
Ooo, that sounds yummy! I use the Nestle swirled chips, so it's chocolate and peanut butter together. Let me know how yours turns out--I might try it that way this year.
I get a big bag of small regular pretzels, a bag of red and a bag of green candy melts and just dip the pretzels. Sometimes half and half, sometimes I drizzle alittle of the other color over the top or sometime just add some holiday sprinkles. They always look cute, are simple and yummy.
