I just accepted a sub position for the first eight days of school because position is still vacant.

I emailed the principal to see if there was anything I needed to know or do to prepare, is there anything else I can do at this point?

    School starts Wednesday.

Create entertaining introductory lessons you would use in your own classroom to get students transitioned to the new class. What grade is this?

Just present basic routines which most teachers use the first few days.

    And, most importantly, have fun.

You may have more of the papers going home, coming back than normal at the beginning of school, but I am sure it won't be anything you can't handle. I agree - have fun. You will probably see these students off and on for a long time.
