I'm so happy this JOB SEARCH AGONY is OVER! I received my phone call today to teach at a low performing school and I mean it really scored a 1 out of 10 for a computer and math position. After 2 years of searching for a job over 100 resumes and application and 30 interviews I am so happy to be employed. Tips for job seekers Yes they want teachers with several subject authorizations due to budget cuts. They need to be able to move you around. I received my Math Single Subject and a Business Single Subject. It sucks because I spent a year on Math and didn't sub nearly as much as I wanted to. Bring your paperwork. When I was interviewed for this job the principle did not have anything on me. I had to show my resume, recommendations, and lesson plans. Use your background to your advantage and relate it to the position. Anything is better. Practice, Practice, Practice all these interview questions on this discussion board. I pretty much memorized all my answers and felt very comfortable with any question she ask me. Be positive. I had so many interviews that I felt I was treated really bad and sometimes like a piece of garbage. I smiled and always was pleasant when they were rude to me. I even came out of 1 or 2 interviews crying afterwards because they were so mean to me. My last recommendation is at night to get on your hands and knees and pray to GOD. I would pray at my bedside with my hands and knees and ask GOD to give me a job. He did after 6 years of starting my love to educate at risk students and 2 years with my full credential. Everything happens for a reason. When you find a job use this board and post to give others hope. I remember reading someone that said to do this and I thought if this person can do this so can I!
