I was looking into becoming a teacher's assistant in the state of New York and was wondering if you have to start as a level one or if you can go straight to a level three if you have everything but the work experience. I feel really silly asking this question but when I logged onto the state's website it lists 18 credit hours and the state test as requirements as well as the two workshops and, of course, the fingerprinting. Is work experience a requirement to apply for the level 3 certificate also? Thanks in advance :)

Got it figured out, looked further into the official site and found what I was looking for. :)

You need to work one year with your level 1 certificate, after the year is up, if you have all the requirements met for level 3, you can skip level 2. hope that helps
