Last year was the worse year of my life. The first half of the year, my FIL (age 93) was in and out of the hospital, in home hospice, and passed. We discovered MIL (90) could not live on her own, provided care in her home, had her living with us, and ended up placing her in Assisted Living. Just after we relocated her, my dad was unresponsive on a ventilator for 40 days after what was supposed to be an overnight procedure.

We've had a great year so far. MIL has been fine and my Dad is pretty much back to normal.

I just returned from the ER, second week in a row with MIL. I feel like we are starting the process all over again. :( I'm just not ready.

I am so sorry. Last year I dealt with issues with my mom. It really sucks to get old. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm sorry about last year, and will pray that this is not the start of another rough year.

As someone who has also endured a rough year, you have my prayers that things turn around.

I'm sorrey about all you've endured. Last year wasn't my best either, but we just hang in there!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I don't feel alone.

Aside from the parental health issues last year, we had teenage daughter problems, 4 totaled cars, and 2 beloved pets to put down.
We are stronger and experienced this year. We have a great support system for MIL. I am fortunate to have my family and health.

I am thrashed after a 4 hour stint in the ER. I know MIL is old but I just didn't expect to do this again so soon. I know I'll feel better after a good night's sleep.

teenage problems are enough without having to care for loved ones. I hope that you make it thru these tough times.
