Another interview. Next Tuesday. 3 hours north. It was one of the first places I applied back on May 1st. The principal called and asked if I was still interested in interviewing. He also wrote an email. I called back and said yes. It's with him and the superintendent so at least I think I won't have to wait three weeks to hear back. I figure if I don't walk out of the interview with an offer, I didn't get it.
Thank you all for the well wishes. I really, really, really, really, really, REALLY need to get this job. So... any positive thoughts/mojo/prayers/spells/incantations/star wishing you can send my way on Tuesday is greatly appreciated.
Another interview! A principal called me this morning. I told him any day except a Tuesday because I have another interview. We set everything up for Wednesday and he asked at the end: you don't have to tell me but where is your other interview? He said that his school is closer. Lol! Now I just need to rock both of them next week.
Wow that's great. I totally think that when you go into the second interview you can have a nice conversation type interview with the P since he was already trying to sell you on the schools commute. And since he knows you have another interview he might be quicker to hired you as well. So fingers crossed and good luck!!!!
I got the job! I walked out after a hour and a half. I was almost to my car when the superintendent caught up with me and offered me the job. He knew I had an interview tomorrow at a closer location so I took some time to think about it. 3 hours later when I got home I called to take the job. It's teaching juniors and seniors which is what I student taught. It's teaching honors level classes. My classroom is huge. It was just a good fit. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to afford moving there...
That's exactly how I was offered my contract! I was walking out to my car and the superintendent came running into the parking lot to catch me. Congratulations to you!!! So happy to hear it well and the job search is over
Awesome! It's funny how you called it and said if you didn't walk out with the job you didn't get it. Well you got it!!! Congrats!!!
Whatever you can fit in your car...the rest can wait until you get a couple of paychecks! Congratulations!!!
Thanks everyone! It's about time. My family is really happy for me, but now I have to figure out how to move in five weeks. No relaxing for me. I have a house to list, a house to find, a yard sale to plan, etc.
Congratulations! I love hearing when a fellow teacher lands a job! I just feel all warm and fuzzy. I hope you are able to find a nice place with a simple commute to work. Best of luck!
Thank you. The superintendent is the one who chased me down to offer me the job. I called the principal that night to officially accept. He wasn't very forthcoming, considering this is my first teaching job, about the process. He basically just said congratulations and told me to call if I needed help finding a rental. Nothing about who would contact me or when I might sign a contract. I wrote a quick email to both of them this morning because I forgot to tell them my contact info (my cell phone number) has changed since Sunday in case they needed to contact me. I kept worrying HR had my old disconnected phone number. How long does this part usually take? I have five weeks to move but I don't want to sell everything and it somehow fall through.
