Do a sequencing lesson, character contrast of Henny Penny and Foxy Loxy (is that the right rhyme for the fox?), rhyming lesson... I know I did more with this. I just can't remember right off.

I usually stop reading the book before the end where the fox eats Henny Penny and then have the kids write a letter to her and give her advice. It is a great time to learn how to write letters. Then we finish reading it...the kids love it! Hope that helps!

i like the readers theater idea. Or you could have them write their own scripts of henny penny maybe changing the ending for them to decide what happens..
