hello , i am a school coodinator, i live in india and have a school of 200 children ,my lowest being pre school and highest being the fourth. to know how the teachers teach ( how effectively) i have started giving my kids suprise tests consisting of that months portion . the children love it as those
who have improved and done very well get rewards . and as they have been doing it for a long time are used to the system and dont mind it as there are just 3-4 lessons to study . My problem is i need diffrent areas of analysing
the paper .... the paper is simple made up of fill ups , mulitple choice , match the following . i do this just to know if the child has got a fair idea of teh portion coverd . so here is what i need areas of analyzin a students paper , and new ways of asking them questions . preferably pencil and paper tests . or if you have any other methods of testing kids please let me know .

please help any ideas will do '

Think about performance tasks. For example if you are studying famous people, ask them to write a newspaper article about the person or an interview with that person. For addition and multiplication, figure out a grocery list. For science create an experiment. All of these can be done with paper and pencil, they just require a little more thought. Good Luck!

Could you drop by classrooms and observe teacher's effectiveness rather than judging a TEACHER based on students' tests? Are you taking into account that some students have learning disabilities, that students learn materials at different rates, that evn though a student may not have done well on the test he may still have made progress?
