I am doing CAFE, and one of my third grade students has low fluency (about 35 wpm), and she deletes and occasionally adds in new words while reading. This is almost always with small sight words (and, of, the, etc.). What strategy can I teach her to help with this?

Does she use an EZ Reader thing - either a bookmark under the words, or with a clear-vu colored area to highlight her line?

I really like using those in my class- sometimes just looking at the entire text can be very overwhelming for students, and they miss small words like "the, and, a" that they definitely know how to read. For some of my students that struggle with this, I also enlarge any text I can, even if the student doesn't have vision problems. It makes the print seem more manageable and easier to read.
