Hi- I am looking for a job (my school closed :( ) My question is:
Which opportunity would most likely help me get into a district?
    1. Office clerk for the special ed department of one elementary school (I am working toward my masters in spec ed)

    2. Subbing for a district which the deputy superintendent placed me on the sublist himself & knows my position & needs for a job??

I hate to do office work, but I will be working with the parents and I will become familiar w/ all the paperwork in spec ed

What are your thoughts? Advice?? Thank you :thanks:

I would look at the pros and cons of each position. Position one is an office job (con), but its in an area that you are working towards for your masters (pro); however, you wouldn't be working with kids (con) and you wouldn't get your name out to many schools (con). Position two is subbing which gives you additional classroom experience (pro), the super put you on the list personally (pro), and you get your name out there to more schools (pro).

Your welcome. Sometimes it takes an outside person to clear things up.

I agree that job #2 fits much more closely to what you ultimately want to do.

Substituting so you can be able to take a contract teaching job right away if one becomes available!
