Hello, I need some help knowing what to do with my two PE classes? During free time my first graders really want to play tug-of-war against us teachers. There are roughly 20 first graders in the class, and four teachers. if you do the math that would be one teacher per 5 students. Would it be fair to put all 4 teachers versus the 20 first graders in tug of war? next. A few of the Kindergartners in my other class want us to play monkey in the middle with them. But as soon as we started I realize something They tried so hard to catch the ball, but we tower over the kids that are in the middle. there was no way they could even come close to reaching it. Plug It’s hard to throw the ball when your squatting of the entire time. I also found out that when the adult is in the middle, even if we are isitting, our arms have a longer reach, we can just reach up and grab the ball, I just felt condescending because we are playing monkey in the middle with kids that are less then half our size, The kids can’t play fairly with us. But they really want us to play. How do you play monkey in the middle with the kindergartners?
I want to play these games, but how? Is there a way to adapt mucky in the middle if there are players with a height disadvantage? I can’t move on my knees enough in order to catch the ball and throw it back, but I don’t think it is fair if we throw the ball way over their heads, we can throw it lower but it is hard to keep it at the same height to where they can reach it. Is there a way that much taller players can make it more fair?
